During the Helghan-Combine war the helghast allow humans from ex-combine occupied planets and helghast colonies to enlist in the helghast imperial army as conscripts, they were use as cannon food since they attack stright to enemy positions with only artillery support while helghast units with full support flank the enemy positions. They were also use to guard accupied planets along side the helghast police force and helghast death squads, each platoon have a helghast "Commissar" wich job is ensure morale between the troops is keep high by ane means necesary, bassically they shoot deserters and anyone whot tries to escape the battlefield.
