Description
Girraween National Park, South East Queensland, Australia. The first wild (alive) Kangaroo I saw here. Unfortunately the sun was setting exactly opposite the field so I tried a more sillouhette style to not waste this moment. What do you think - do you like the capture?Related content

very nice ... a little dark, but not distractingly so. those must be high hills, or else you are close to them. i was expecting to see some sky.
Man, I hope the Roo never ends up in Zoo

A bit of both...high and close. I wont worry bout the Zoo but the highway close by Too many end up on a bullbar

very nice moment you captured here... this photograph is very very nicely composed I must say. However, i think this image could be a lot better if the sunlight comes from behind of from the left so the sky would be bright blue with some shadows...

Hehehe...the black background is a mountain not the sky I agree 100% but sometimes you have no choise but to make the best out of the moment before it is gone
Thanks for the idea

weird, the sky is black but the ground is pretty light. the kangeroo stands out well, very much the focal point of the photograph... i think having the sky there would take away the focus from the kangeroo

Thank you...actually it isnt a black sky...it is a mountain in the background which is in shadow as the sun comes from thefront...but I have to admit I like the strange feeling the black background gives the photo

Very nice capture. There are so many layers to that background, it really gives his habitat a sense of depth. That grass looks very alluring.

Thanks...I like how the mountain in the background comes out nearly black because of the opposite light source (sun).

It's a 14 day cruise in Australia and New Zealand, we start in Sydney... there's about 3 ports in Australia and 6 in New Zealand. I'm really excited.

Very cool photo, I love how the kangaroo is centered in the shot. Also, the contrast is really nice, the roo stands out well in the grass.
