Description
The life of an ACME agent who keeps setting new records in terms of returned stolen goods (and negative records in terms of actually catching a notorious international thief) would be absolutely unbearable if it weren't for those few, precious moments when she can go home, kick off her boots and relax on the first soft surface she can find before that loveable pain in the behind of her brother can reach her and kill any chance of domestic tranquility.
But apparently something is already bothering said ACME agent, who just can't enjoy the relaxing atmosphere. What could it be?
The things she could have done differently to prevent Carmen Sandiego getting away from the agency's carefully-prepared trap using only a grape and a guy's moustache?
The fact that she's eternally ignored every time some dunce on the internet compiles lists of strong female characters in cartoons?
The existential dread of knowing that she exists inside a videogame and that everything in the universe she experiences was created to entertain a mysterious, all-powerful "player"?
Or perhaps that she should really, really air her boots out, after having worn them for thirty-eight hours straight?
She's the only one who knows for sure.
This picture was born from an invitation by the esteemed to try my hand with Ivy from Where on Earth is Carmen Sandiego?, I hope you like it, buddy! Β
Ivy, Zack and Carmen Sandiego are copyright of Broderbund Software Inc. and DIC Entertainment.

No no no no, the one Ivy works for is the world's premiere detective agency, staffed only with young prodigies (Ivy for example excels in nearly every athletic field) who always get their man or woman-- except if her name is Carmen San Diego, apparently. Thanks for the !

Hush! She's such a tomboy that she doesn't know how to react to people calling her 'pretty'.

That is well done - atmospheric, detailed and captures her spirit really good
I want to ask in a humble way, if I could
1. use the art and
2. print it and
3. (re)color it (with credit to the artist) to learn more and led me lead by the atmosphere of your artwork and the character/scenery in doing justice to these
You can find examples in my own 'gallery'

Seeing one of my drawings colored would be quite interesting! Ok, I'm convinced. You have my permission to use this deviation so that you can do your thing. I'm just asking you to send me a note once you finish the coloring process so that I can see the completed work before you upload it.
Deal?

I'd say, her realism.Β Ivy looks so natural in that pose.Β Usually, even if fictional, a regular model would make it well aware that they're being filmed.Β This isn't the case here.Β If you were to erase Ivy's face, I would have guessed you've taken this from a real photo.
If you're up to it, I did have an idea for you, for someone similar in nature.Β Let me know if you're game.

Ok, this could probably be a disappointment for you, but I've so far taken inspiration from photos for all of my pin-ups (that is, the pics not featuring tickling), so that I could always have a reference in case of problems with wonky perspective or unlikely anatomic poses. This one drawing is no exception.
If this revelation didn't leave you with a sour taste in your mouth, send me a note and we can discuss your idea.

Ivy now has the attention she deserves. You've done a great service to her.

I told you that I had a preliminary sketch ready one hour after you "challenged" me. And I never throw good sketches away.
And keep the flattering at an acceptable level or it'll all go to my head.
