i dont ever really intend to fully develop the last two stages. there are times when comments get overwhelming but i try to reply to most. though i do need to log off more often and get things done!i really do apriciate all the support. i have to admit im a shameless attention whore.
does the shakepeare work?
what about a print of this?

I'm still within the first few phases myself.
Alas, others however, do choose a different path. They may or may not have any talent whatsoever, but they claim to be the greatest thing since Da Vinci, and they feel a need to let the whole world know it, and anyone who says otherwise is immediately blocked. And for these creatures, its only a matter of time before the name "ED" starts to show up.

i was a member for a year or two before i got a DD. the best advice i can give is to upload as often as you possibly can. that will keep you drawing and keep your traffic up! its frustrating in the beginning but the more often you draw, the better you get, the more you upload, the more traffic you get. personally, one comment like "this drawing is awful because the line weight in the hands in panel 3 are too fine and it draws attention away from the facial expression" is worth a thousand "this is awesome" comments. and that is not to say that being appreciated is not rewarding in and of itself; i have always been grateful for the support. but i am not a very good artist, and if someone can tell me what i can do to be better, i would be happy with one comment a month.
all in all, comments are nice but they certainly are not my motivation to do arts xD

You're Right. I may not get alot of attention right now on DA, but maybe sooner or later if I get to many messages I'll probably wish I didn't have so many. And sometimes, it doesn't matter who's the better artist that you get so popular. Sometimes you get popular because of really who you are. ^^ I'm not a good artist, but o my friends, it doesn't really matter.
Like you said Comments are nice and all but don't really motivate ya. (sometimes)

Hey, if you ever feel the need, I'm here to get/receive. I'm still learning things like technique and color, so I'm a little light when it comes to critiquing them, but I've done a bit of content critisism... You know, story, characters, joke relevence and understandability- that sort of thing.

I was going to say I don't have that 'here' yet, lol, but in real life where artists seem to be scarce, I am definatly to the ending panel. I actually try not to show my art to anyone in real life, I just don't want to go into all that. hahaha.
Besides, most of the time when they like something, I'm not happy with it, and so I just end up arguing that its not that great....
Anyways, I was going to go to the end of your comments on this, but have given up now at page 38, I just am too tiered to click " next" one more time. I am impressed by the fact that you are still answering alot of comments, even to page 38, hahaha. i dont like drawing in public cos i dont like the scene people make about it.
i have no idea how many pages there are for comments here. there are few deviations i have that have this many. i try my best to answer everyone at least once but it gets hard. and as you can see it takes me a while...

...And you just got huuuuge load of such compliments just for the artpiece made on this matter. But yeah, whenever I got to visit dA sites of utmost popularity and made a post there, it usually dissolved in an ocean of zillion "must fav" comments. At least I can get some humor of it with this guide.

i dont know why people are so adamant about making people comment. i didnt join dA for countless compliments and vapid praise. i actually like it when people tell me something that is bad or wrong with my art...

As I am still before unraveling arcanes of digital drawing, I don't think I'm capable of providing you with some useful point on your technique. There are countless other aspects of creations, yet here you have made a new quality in terms of guides and instructions...

my stage depends on the mood i am in. i like talking about art so i try to stay at the technical stage but i don't always feel like responding. the number of comments also varies but i always have around 100-200 "messages" in the inbox. i have like 95 messages and replies right now and 161 faves sitting around. i used to try responding to them all but its a lot of work.
