Description This drawing is very flawed. From his eyes, which are way too high on his head, to his uneven shoulders, to his very 2-dimensional lookin' arms and hands. But there's something about it that I still like. Probably how his camo turned out.

ooh, I like! Snake Eater was my absolute favorite game of 2004 and since I myself have a Mullet, you can imagine how much I love Snake (and Big Boss) for their choice of hairstyle!

The colors of the cammo and scenery are very well done here and truly bring out the "Snake Eater Feel" since cammoflauge was a huge focus of the game. The woodland look is what immediately caught my eye the moment I saw this drawing, I absolutely love it!

Haha, that's awesome! Thanks a lot. Yeah, I made this I think well before the game came out, I'm not sure if there were any officially announced camo's at that point, so I kinda winged it a little bit based on what they had as Snake's default camo. But it was probably just the woodland camo he had at that point... yeah. Sounds about right. Lol.

that was a good game. i'm actually not that big of a metal gear fan. too much non sensical dialogue. i absolutely hate the second one and i hate the remake they had for gamecube (too many matrix moments).
anyways i think that's a great picture. i also think there's nothing wrong with the eyes especially when you look at the solid snake character and how his eyes are postioned. how the bandana is just above it and all. i think they look fine to me. i mean if you were going for a realistic approach then i could see that. i dig those colors.

Thanks again! I don't mind the second one, but it is my least favorite of the three. The original is definitely better than the remake (how could they even consider replacing the original musical score????), and the third one finally got the formula perfect as far as balancing out the gameplay (which there is more of) and dialogue (which there is less of). So basically, I agree with you on everything you've said, but on a lesser scale, since I'm a pretty big MGS fan, lol.

Wow. I just beat Metal Gear Three. That's one of the most hardest freakin games ever. I didn't think there was a thing wrong with it. You're very talented. How long did it take you to finish it? When you do your work, do you create an outline first and then scan it or take a picture of it and then work on it or what? *grinning I mean your work is fantastic.

Thanks a lot! I forget how long it took me to finish this, it was actually done sometime last year, before the game even came out. I'd say probably 7-10 hours to color, which is about average for me. I create a sketch, then scan it (or, nowadays I just do my sketches in Photoshop with my drawing tablet), and bring it into Photoshop. In most cases I then create a cleaned up outline, but in this particular drawing there was no outline, just color with light and shadows. Thanks again!

One day I'd like to get a 9 x 12 wamon tablet. I'm still learning photoshop myself. Wht is easier for you? Scanning an outline of a sketch or jsut doing it directly on the computer? Do you have some favorite photoshop tutorials online or books? I look forward to enjoying more of your work. Have a great weekend.

I have a 4x5 wacom tablet I think... something like that. For me, it's easier to draw directly on the computer. I'm not sure why, but I'm a better artist when I use my tablet on the computer. Probably because it's not as unforgiving as real media (you can undo anything, adjust size and width, distort, etc). Absolutely nothing wrong with pencil and paper, I'm just not as talented with them as others XD

It usually takes a while, but I can usually see all the errors in my drawings over time, lol. You're right though, it's the only way I can improve. Thanks for the comment!
