Description UPDATE: because there's only nudity and language, I lifted off the strict mature rating and left it as regular mature rating. Still, if someone thinks it deserves to be put on the strict rating block (please tell me why; don't just tell me "because I think so"), I'll put it back up.

Art trade with I was close to calling this "Let's get there together" but I think "Exchange" is better. Firm warning, no lookey if you ain't mature enough to handle boobies. And yes, that applies to even the adults, because lord knows, DA is riddled with dimwit adults who are easily offended by boobs. T_T

Anyway, this is almeidap's character Cybergirl, a go-go dancer who hides within her some amazing technology from a dying scientist. I decided to pair her up with Seth, seeing as this trade is an exchange of sorts. ^_^

It was fun doing this. It's more adult oriented, obviously, but I think it's fabulous and exciting stuff to explore. I've often stated in my other works how there's no shame in women's sexuality. ^_^

I won't go into detail with this. I'll let you guys decide what this pic is about. Friendship perhaps? Or something else?

Those nipples are indeed. dangerous. For the common horny guy, though, they're suckable. XD

It's absurd to be offended by boobies. After all, aren't they used to nourish the youngest, most fragile of our race, the infants? And doesn;t the act of breast-feeding promote and close relationship between mother and child? I hate it when people just think of breasts as a solely sexual part of the body.

ugh, tell me about it. I'm so pissed that my BOS pic of the pregnant woman was still considered too mature to display out in the convention at Akon and, later on, San Japan. Apparently, boobs signify sex. Heaven forbid if I show children boobs. And yet, these same children are taking trips to the musuem, which is just LOADED with boob action. T_T I mean, really! My BOS series is all about creation, the nipples signfying the woman feeding the universe. But. Whatever. >_>

I have always found it funny how people flail and freak out when there are bare breasts shown in a picture. Anyway, I really like this picture and they both look really cute together.

Gaaah, just barely replying back. Dad and I have been going out lately, just to get some cool air since there's no AC at home. We come back very late so I'm having to immediately get to work on my stuff.

Anyway, I'm so glad you dig this pair. I had fun doing the text, playing with people's heads until they start reading it. XD

And yeah, what's up with not showing booby action? We show blown off heads all the time T_T

pistolrush In reply to RadiusZero [2009-06-16 18:25:15 +0000 UTC]

That's okay. It is starting to get hot up here too. Virgina heat is as bad as Texas heat but since we also have the moisture coming off the Chesapeake the humidity gets pretty hellish. I used to do the same thing before I could afford a cheap thrift store AC.

They are a very cute pair. The text is very nice. It is like a direct feed into what they are thinking about one another.

I don't get that either. I am more freaked out by people getting their heads blown off than I am by a breast. I don't understand why people get freaked out. I once had a friend that freaked out when a mother was breast feeding her baby in public. The way she was carrying on, you would have thought some guy had flashed her. It's sad when even girls are uncomfortable with parts of their own anatomy.

Gorgeous work as usual Love it, it's the kind of artwork I could stare at for a loong time <3
I don't think that strict mature content it's that necessary. I mean, who hasn't seen boobs?? (and I found the strong language only because you said it, otherwise I'd missed it XD) But well, there's a lot of weird people out there... getting offended too easily for too ridiculous things ¬¬ and missing the art in the way.....

Anyway. Love their poses, the overall composition and the level of detail in their clothes

...and I definetly want Seth's boots 8DD

Anyway, many thanks for loving the work. It makes me so glad (and relieved) to see that more viewers are treating this no different than my other work, this despite the mature rating. <3

Yes, Seth has definetly good taste for clothes...

Oh, please go ahead exploring this new 'spicy' style! It can lead to really interesting artworks, as seen above~
And besides that, (in my case) what I like from you is your vision and style - not only the subject of what you draw.

Well, I'm certainly glad you dig Seth's clothes. Did you check out the 'legwarmers' she sports on the other pic? Man, that would be epic to have. Of course, I got short legs and Seth's legs are long so it'd probably look funny on me. XP Regardless, it's always fun designing clothes for Seth. They got a life of their own.

Thank you for your encouraging words btw! I'm glad you appreciate the vision and style. It's something I'm constantly trying to explore and push.

Thankies! I'm so glad someone appreciated my typography setup, lol. Now all the years with Fagan paid off. I think that was the fun part. Initially you think 'oh, how sweet, they're exchanging words of love and friendship.' And then you get a closer look and go. It was fun playing around with words, letting them disappear and get cut off enough to create absurd words.

Yay, my color schemes! I've been working pretty hard to use more saturated types of colors, just to broaden my color range. Thanks so much for the cool and wonderful comment. ^_^

I’m a bad girl. Awhile back I made a 18+ account to see things like this.

It really just needs a warning mature content in my opinion. No use in strictly censoring something over half the population sees in the morning when they take a shower everyday (Sorry, itβ€˜s just how I was raised I guess. No nudity censorship.). Besides, the best kind of art is art that causes people to discuss (Whether it be arguing or just talking about the meaning).
We’ve had discussions in my English class while reading The Odyssey about how women are regarded as whores and so forth if they like sex and Mr. Hero over here is doing every chick he stays over with. There’s also the factor that if there’s a single 40 year old man and there’s a single 40 year old woman that there’s something wrong with the woman and the man is just living it up. This is called the Penis Factor.
Someday I hope the world becomes more liberal and accepting.
Nonetheless. I am in love with how you draw legs. Seth looks beautiful as ever. Really, I have a huge crush on female Seth as much as male Seth. And this new girl in this picture looks amazing in your style. I think I’ll be checking out the creator’s gallery.

RadiusZero In reply to unstamental [2009-06-08 01:57:04 +0000 UTC]

hahah, I decided to remove the strict mature censor. My main concern were the words. You read them and then you just realize what's really going on between these two 'friends'.

I hope the same for a more liberal world. I'm raised as a Catholic so I've always struggled with sexuality since that's seen as a sin. the religion is more lenient today but I remember in my younger days how very "bad" it was to have sexual thoughts. I believe me latest depictions of sexuality is my way of "renegotiating" with my own sense of sexuality.

Ugh. The Penis Factor. I could never understand stupid double standards. In my own English classes I'd read about Gilgamesh and his sexual conquests, while people like Inanna were viewed as whores.

This past Akon convention, I was really pissed off at this guy who wanted to commission me. I'm glad I refused him. While his topic was very provacative and interesting and i nearly wanted to change my mind about doing his commission, the moment he started talking about the woman's mouth being bonded shut, only allowed to talk through her servant...Ugh, I nearly wanted to drop him off a cliff! I had no problem with the bondage dress he wanted for the female character. I *did*, however, have a problem with binding the woman's mouth shut. I don't care how he tried to justify it, or how this was considered 'avant garde' fashion, it was still a visual representation of suppression against women. It was demeaning as being asked to draw a kid being put in chains by a 60-year-old gentleman. The woman in me just wanted to punch that guy in the face. instead, I jsut kept quiet and let him wallow in his own sexually demeaning universe.

Anyway... that aside. It makes me very thrilled to know how you feel about my cahracter. And I confess, female Seth is my own creation but even I blush when I draw her with spot-on anatomy and face expression. She's got a life of her own, you could say. I think her freewill spirit is helping me explore uncharted territory I was always afraid to explore.

BTW, I'm going to unscrap the Seth pinup drawing I uploaded here yesterday. No sense in hiding her anymore right?

Yeah. It’s really quite sick. The fact that there’s such a large amount of wonderful female nudes is such a huge compliment. And that a lot of women do β€œin-Up” pictures and are proud and strong willed is great. But I compare how men used to and sometimes still do (At least in America) to women is a little… To say the least… Extremely rude. Being a white individual I almost compare how women were treated to how they treated African Americans and so forth. And of course I feel bad. It didn’t involve me but it’s really awful. The fact that some men still don’t believe in women having a brain that needs to be shared to the world as much as a man’s is distressing. And it’s these males that give the whole population of men a bad name. However I still do enjoy light comedy that may offend either gender. I’m not a super preaching feminist. I actually find feminists to be hounding all the wrong things sometimes.

Seth in pinup is a great thing.

RadiusZero In reply to unstamental [2009-06-09 07:00:51 +0000 UTC]

Ugh, I know. feminists have forgotten why they began their crusade. Hardcore feminists would probably argue my latest mature work adovacates more problems against women. But I see my latest work as women RECLAIMING their sexual rights, rights that were abused by men and later denounced by hardcore feminists.

I'm currently working on a VERY provacative picture. This picture will definitely be strict mature rated since it's pretty obvious what's going on. Yet, it basically counterattacks all those years when men would freely create voyeristic images, such as the Venus paintings. Seth looking straight back into the audience in my "Seth as Venus" was no accident. I deliberately had Seth stare right back at those who wanted to see her as an object, yet couldn't.

I think that's why I had a tough time with that guy's commission. Bondage clothes is just a fashion. While they can be used for kinky sex, they're still clothes. And women, especially in the bedroom setting, DO want to be submissive sometimes, the same as men do. That's pretty natural. But the SOCIAL setting, the place outside the bedroom... now that's a place where many bedroom behaviors no longer can coexist with the social norms. Social norms, for example, state that it is NOT all right to hit a woman. In contrast, a woman can be slapped on the ass during rough sex, just for the sake of being kinky. (Yet, even in the bedroom setting that woman must give permission to her lover/sex partner to do that to her.) In the social setting there are no exceptions. The moment you make an exception then suddenly, it's all right for a man to sexually harrass a woman in public.

For me, that bondage mask on the woman the guy wanted went beyond the bedroom setting and into the social setting. A complete violation of my ethics because, within that society he wanted to create, that society viewed woman as nothing more than a beautiful, yet silent object; one who is unable to speak unless she has a slave/servant present. In this particular case, I wouldn't mind having feminists claw at this guy for wanting this type of commission. XD But I have a feeling he's part of a minority group who still thinks it's okay to think like that. Like you said, these guys give men in general a bad name. And like you, I'm not too fond of hardcore feminists. They scare me a lot and make a big deal out of small things as opposed to looking at more important issues.

There are, though, some good ones out there. I developed several personal values from one instructor who was good natured and part of the hippie era. XD Her and my mother are probably why, despite me wanting to explore all sorts of topics in the creative realm, I refuse to draw anything that violates my code of ethics. I'll draw sex. I'll draw bondage. But only if the parties depicted have consented to it. I WON'T draw children being molested. I WON'T draw men/women being raped. And I certainly won't draw anything that would belittle a woman. It's not true to my beliefs.

Mind you, I think every artist has different code of ethics. I certainly don't think down of the artists who took that guy's commission because they have their own views. They may be different from my own but their views are valuable nonetheless. In the end, the artist has to do what feels right *for them*, not for others.
