Description
When I regain consciousness for the third time today, I see a nurse and some bandages. When I turn my head, I can barely make out a blurry blue object that I hope is the professor. Then, my hearing tunes in and I close my eyes so I can listen in on the conversation.“.....You're lucky that she's still in good health. These holes are extremely reckless. What were you doing?” She has an extremely monotone voice.
“Someone...stole my medicine…,” I hear the professor’s voice say.
“You should have taken the day off. You could have seriously injured another student. It's a good thing you injured just her.”
“Yes, I suppose…. She still needs medical attention nonetheless.”
There's a quiet pause for a few minutes. The nurse is taking care of my injury. Then, she finishes catering to the wound and I hear the nurse speak up once more. “Have you heard the rumors?”
“Rumors about...what?”
“About Wildfire’s life. Before she died.” This shook me greatly. There are rumors going around about me? “They say that she killed her mother in cold blood, and threw her dad in jail. I would be careful around her if I were-”
“Now just a minute!” I peep up. “Those rumors were twisted around! It's not like I wanted to kill my mom! It's not like I wanted my dad to be in jail!” I began to tear up. My tears are different from normal tears, though- mine are lava.
“Clearly you're lying. Why would a sociopathic murderer fess up to their crimes? You should be in an asylum for the things you've done.
“I...it wasn't my fault….” My throat starts to hurt from trying my hardest to hold back my tears. “I didn't want those things to happen to them….”
“If you weren't born, your parents would still be ali-”
“That’s enough!” The professor decides to intervene before my ego shatters into grains of salt. “That is way too far! It’s not her fault. Nothing you said was her fault. I don't know what happened back then, but Wildfire would never do something like that. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ll be taking my student back to her dorm.” He picks me up once again as the nurse shakes her head.
“Don't say I didn't warn you.”
