Well, better buy another Canon or find a way to fix it. I tried both the 35 and 50 Art and they both were so unpredictable at focusing that I was never able to rely on them. They went both back to reseller. Some are talking about fixing them with the dock, but I won't pay that much for a lens that is not even well adjusted and need to pay more just to have it perhaps working well.

ok good to know, I tried the 50mm and the 35mm an my cam and I didnt recognized any focus problems.
hrm I dont know but what I know... I cant live without 50mm

perhaps you should buy the 1.8 one, much cheaper and still very good.

Actually a I have it, I lend it from a friend cuz he has no time for photography but I really hate it it's so light and slow and plastic.

Indeed, though the image quality is quite excellent... if not maybe it is already broken. That's the problem with this lens, it's really fragile. I got one as spare lens. It's pretty good too with macro tubes.

This lens is known for the easily damaged focus and I Think my one is really old.
I bought it second hand six years ago and now I think its too old. 
It really fucks me off because it was my favorite an most used lens.
