Description So this was the final project that I had to do for my Mapping for Games class. We either had to create a tree, or a face, and I chose a tree.

I built the base mesh in 3ds Max, and then exported it out to Roadkill to UV Unwrap. Then back into Max for optimizing the UV space as best as I could. I then imported it into Zbrush to sculpt awesome things on it.

I then used the Image Plane Plugin in Zbrush to start texturing the tree. I used a simple bark texture. I then Polypainted on it to get more detail. I also made the Normal and Cavity in Zbrush.

Baked the AO map in Max, and then Spec map in Photoshop. I then rendered it in Max.

Pretty huh? :3

Done in:
3ds Max 2008
Zbrush 3.1

Thanks! Haha, why do you think it's a little strange?

because the normal doesn't match the texture. the normal looks like it might be on a statue or something of the sort, and not on a tree. And if it were (like an alien tree or something) then i think it should still follow the grain to make it more in tune with your diffuse.
