Description Decided to download the demo of R10 after hearing about it, so far, haven't found a reason to upgrade yet since the modeling tools haven't really changed much since 9.1. but I like the sketch and toon module, it seems easier to start and use now, anyway put my civic in the demo, did some renders and screen captured the renders and put them together in PS CS2 demo.

btw...im not back, im just foolin around.

I'm using the R10 at home, R9 in university (should be programming in that lesson... a well, temptation... ), I prefer the R10. Mostly because of the layout and the icons, they seem to be clearer in R10 to me. But I guess if you're used to R9...?

don't have the 1400 USD for the XL package right now and I have a pretty old computer too, its only a Pentium III 1.36ghz CPU with integrated everything! gotta get a new Computer first, maybe a Mac this time around.

Yeah, I'm using a Mac Mini, and it's really a pleasant box. But do yourself a favour and order the Mac with plenty of RAM. 512 MB is enough for... well... OS X and Firefox, really. And Cinema 4D isn't making any use of OS X, the UI really stands out in not being fitted to OS X.

Nice, you say it isn't worth it to upgrade? What about the 'realtime' renderer is it any good?

ragingpixels In reply to Zeppi-il-Hafi [2006-12-18 17:58:25 +0000 UTC]

computers not fast enough to use that, its like 13 seconds slower than real time.

i thought it does. i've seen an old max teacher do something like this with that module. Ofcoarse most of the time, most beginners use it for cel-shade style look with a painters touch.

ragingpixels In reply to hellz-yeah [2006-12-15 04:00:48 +0000 UTC]

no, it started as a honda civic, but on of my inspirations when I modified it was a VW though....here is an old submission with the modified and the stock(semi stock) version of the civic side by side:

and for the description to what I did with the car and inspirations for the modifications:
