Hey Ragingpixels.
wanted to say TY for making this video.. i have been using C4D for about a year.. i got it as a B-day present and never got into much polygonal modeling until i seen your video here..
here is how my first car came out.
[link]
Thanks for the great video.. I HIGHLY !! recommend this to anyone who is wanting to learn how to model cars.. or anything that for that mater that is done with the dot to dot polygonal method.. 100% awesomness...

Nice, i dont know many people who would take such a great time just to make a free tutorial like this one. Even though the accuracy isn't 100% it still gives you the help and idea on creating stuff. Since im a beginner on C4D, i might just try this out...have to just download those darn files which cant be downloaded at the same time

You ROCK!
If i wasn't currently in-between jobs then i would definitely donate so you could receive the deserved reward for educating the art community.
I'd be a very happy man if i could do what you do.
Thanks.

Once i have downloaded i will re-encode it for you if you like and make the file size smaller.
I'd be happy to seed it as a torrent or whatever for you.
Megaupload will only let me download one part per day so i will not have it all till tomorrow. lol, Crazy huh?
But i really wanna learn this stuff, I've been thinking about it for a long time now as i'm not really satisfied with 2d anymore.
Thanks.

making a car doesnt require a lot of power, and besides making cars on lower power computers are the best way to start, since you have limited resources, you will learn a lot of shortcuts on how to do certain things without taking up so much resources, i started making high poly models on a 400mhz computer, then i learned how to NOT kill my computer by optimizing my modeling style.
if you start on a powerful computer, you get spoiled and then in the end wonder why your animation take so long to get pushed out. im pretty sure you computer is better than mines. I have 1 gig of memory, and 1.86Ghz CPU, modeling wise only uses one core, so it only uses 1.8Ghz, renderering uses both.
anyway whatever your choice is.

im a nurbs modeler, so behind the nurbs is a really low poly car, and the best way to make low poly cars is by limiting yourself to a slow computer, atleast it was for me, like try to get as much details in a model with only about 1200 polies, 600 for each half of the car, then after that throw it in a hypernurbs and knife loop it up.

The GT5P game has a average of 200,000 polygons per a car. A good example is the GTR cut out that I made from a screenshot of the game.
Oh yeah you misspelled more in your image.

yeah i know...the misspelled word that is....anyway prologue runs a system that has a cpu with 8 cores, so go figure, thats a lot of power, a 360 only has 3 cores and is about 9.5ghz in speed the ps3 should be alot more, i forgot how much each core was at though, would you happen to know?

Found the specs: [link]
So that is a whopping 25.6 GHz with eight processors! Please note that the specs are from the concept PS3(aka 6 usb ports).

hey, i actually learned that, we're both wrong, its still ~ragingpixels , im just using a different name now, anyway, both the xbox 360 and PS3 are using the same speed in CPU, both of them have 3.2Ghz of CPU power, they may have different amounts of CPUs, but they all end up at the same power rate when combined. the x-box has 3 CPU's that are about 1.0-1.2 Ghz each, and the PS3 has 7 that are about 400mhz to 500mhz each. the 8th one is disabled. but when combined, they both have the same power in CPU strength.

Well, I see how you could say that it's for animations, but you can make some wicked images that look like 3d blueprints, or a good sketch. When my murcie is done, that's probably what I'll do.

also about the sketch and toon plug, i never actually used it, there is always the cheen material which is nice too, the sketch plug is also considered an animation plug as its mainly used for animations in the industry.

Um, well, my friend is loaded so he has all this high tech equipment, and that includes vray, so I go over there all the time to render some things out. But sometimes I go with my Global Illumination. That's kinda lame that you got banned. When exactly was that? I saw you on like a week or so ago. I don't support pirators, but I don't discourage them either. That's kinda like telling someone that they support robbing a bank or you don't. I don't care if someone robs a bank, they're going to get caught eventually, so let em do it! I've actually worked really hard to get c4d, and my own laptop, and it's going to pay off when my career takes off in graphics design (my bro bought PS CS3 at his college and gave it to me for a few reasons. One is to make his album covers and everything for the CD he makes [he is in producing and recording music], and the other is because he knows how good I am with graphics, and wanted me to have a good program to use). I previously used Paintshop Pro 9, a copy of it that my grandmother had, but it had it's limitations. From there, I've just had lots of practice. So what plugin's did you have before?
Cheers.

Hello RagingPixels. Your work is so inspiring, I've been using C4D 10.1 for almost a year now, and recently upgraded to 10.5. I'm not good at modeling (but I'm good at getting pissed at my slow rendertimes), and I'm also over at C4Dcafe.com. I've been following your stuff for a long time, and I'm currently working on downloading your tutorial. Thank you so much for the free giveaway. I would donate some money to you, but I don't have a PayPal, and I'm just almost old enough to have a credit card. Maybe I could donate to you then.
Cheers.

paypal requires a bank account and a routing number to donate and pay with...anyway its all good, so did you notice that i got banned from the cafe?....lol. apparantly they took it that i support pirators, i don't support them, but they are people and i long to teach, so if its criminals, i don't care, i just love to teach, even if its not face to face. are you doing Global illumination or vray renders? if yes, thats why it takes so long, i for one don't use it, though i do still have the AR plug because of HDR support. I gave the licenses to every other plugin away to my old instructor. good luck mate.
