I've been trying for EVER to upload this!It's my super emotastic photomanip from digital imaging last year! (best class ever.)
I like the concept but I did a crappy job of the actual picture.

I don't think you did a crappy job on the picture! It looks to me like the flash washed out the hand and the woman so they're both too bright compared to the background. Plus the edges are hard. If you studied up and revisited this pic someday, I bet it would look a lot more natural. (Disclaimer: I don't know much of anything about digital art! I've only taken one intro to digital photography class at that.) ...Then again, maybe the unnatural brightness and sharpness helps the picture!
Are you the model? Her body language is great. I also like the simplicity of the image. I like how the scissors are totally a threat, but they're presented pretty neutrally... they're not like, snipping madly at some crazy angle just for drama's sake! The drama comes from her reaction and from the obvious sharp=bad dynamic.

Oooh I wasn't sure what specifically made it look so unnatural but now I see what you mean. I'm just pale (hehee yes I'm the model), but the flash definitely added some wierdness there. I was gonna make them a little more... crazy.. but I decided to make it more straighforward and I'm glad you like it! But anyway thank you very much, I appreciate your suggestions & compliments!
