The parade's in town today, it seems.

You can hear the music outside your window. 5:00 AM is a strange time for a parade, but you look out the window anyway. Maybe they're practicing.

What you witness is like no parade you've ever seen, and not in the good way. Wrong, twisted beings snake and writhe through the streets, acting as if they're parodying humans. Strange costumes, fake wine goblets, the whole shebang.
It'd be funny, but there's something so incredibly wrong about them. So wrong yet strangely familiar, albeit in a way you can't put your finger on.

The music gets more intense, the wriggling caricatures' faces start to distort even more, their eyes going black and their mouths stretching to show rows and rows of sharp, rotten fangs. They begin to laugh. It sounds demonic, inhuman.

But they still look so familiar. You know those faces.

Their leader extends a hand to you, looking you straight in the eye. He opens his mouth, but you hear nothing. Nothing except, of course, the horrifying screech. Without even having time to process what made that infernal noise, you black out.

"Holy shit man, what'd you do?!"
"He'll be our star performer!"

"All right my lovelies, it's opening night!"
Previously horrible noises are now completely understandable. You click your jaw and screech a few times, the excitement of performing sending your fourth eye twirling out of your head again.

You're home. Everyone is there. Why are the strange people on the sidewalks laughing? You're better off than the,. Performing, knowing those familiar faces again. Your friends and family, together with you, traveling. Not to mention the aesthetic overhaul! Black eyes are quite becoming.

But all the strange people do is laugh.

"Ladies and gentlemen! Welcome!"
