first off, my intentions for this journal are not pointing any fingers, please do not attack anyone for this journal.

sometime ago ive been charged back by one of my clients in this adopt
  and (sylveon)

v proof v

I have noted the buyer a few months ago and still havent gotten a reply, nor do the other artists who she charged back did.

ive tried contacting paypal but that didnt work

now ive trusted my client pretty much with my whole heart, especially returning customers, i just appreciate very much the fact theyre paying me for my work and it makes me very happy people out there are enjoying my work, this is my first time getting charged back, and its really making me rethink things..

I have lost 125USD + fees IN TOTAL from being chargeback, some of you might not think this is a big amount, but for me as a young artist, even though i am still under my parent's guidance, when i grow up even now, this is my only source of income, those of you who think this is some kind of game, please rethink things. These kind of think affect artists LIVES and it is a crime charging back for wrong things. As for those who are in the same hole, i am sorry i cant make any difference T _ T

as for the big hole the charge back made to my balance, i have thought of reselling the adopt i was chargebacked for, but im like 99.9% sure people wont buy the adopt for the same price it was sold, especially after ive sent all the files and everything, its just.... no..

now the important part, i obviously still trust all my clients, but i do not want this to happen again, ever.
I am thinking of start taking paypal invoices for commissions and adopts just to be on the safe side.

any thoughts or comments my ears are always open
thanks for reading, im just getting this out there.

oh no! D:
I knew there were people out there who do that but i never thought there was anyone nasty enough to do it to someone i know ;~;
I really hope this never happens to you ever again. you did not deserve such a terrible thing. If invoicing will clear the problem, then i definitely recommend it. I use invoicing for all my transactions, and i haven't run into any problems with it.
I hope you can get this problem resolved and get your money back ;~;

After hearing so much about chargebacks I have also adopted the Invoice method, even though it's not full proof. People can't still ask for a charge back, I think, but I think it's a bit harder. I'm not completely in on the whole subject so I can't help you much. ;_;
But feels like this kind got into a "trend" mode? Ever since the first chargebacks, this problem escalated so much out of proportion.
It's so sad to see people want to rip-off artists.
;_;

And 120$ IS much, imo.
I hope you never get one again, or any person for that matter.

Talk to paypal, This is an ongoing problem thats going on. I had the same exscuse last year when I was hit with a charge back. If you talk to paypal and explain your problem they may be able to remove the charged feeMy characters are usually only $8-15 each, but the charge for dispute was $10. They eventually refunded me the charge once I explained the problem to them. You could also try phoning them if you want.

Regarding your character tho Im sorry to hear about it. I would suggest reselling. I have seen others that had the same problem add art, or some freebies from people willing to donate art.

on their page, they claimed the chargebacks were due to her dad cancelling the card she used. but cancelling a card would not initiate chargebacks for everything they purchased with it??? thats not how things work at all??? so im pretty sure its an excuse, and a really bad one at that. :/

I definitely agree with the idea of reselling at original price with an extra or two to sweeten the deal.
The moment that person did a chargeback they lost their ownership rights, so the adopts should go to a better home.

Also, invoices are a smart way to protect yourself, so you should totally do them.

There is an ongoing journal up for this user: [PSA] Possible scam? [update]

I was one of the adopt makers involved in this too.  It seems like every day I find anohter person who lost money to them.  I'd definitely suggest trying to resell the adopts, I already did myself too.  You could even ask if anyone who bid on the pink adopt if they might want to second chance buy it.

You're best off adding a couple bits of art to those adopts and reselling them at original price. They're super cute and I doubt the person feels innocent enough to use the OCs ever since they don't seem to be trying to fix the problem since it's been a few months :c

One of my fears as an artist.. Im so sorry this has happened to you, that a lot to lose.. I feel you should resell the adopts that were chargedback..

I just have a question, what is an invoice in paypal and what does it do?

Dang! That person is awful Money isn't a joke ;-;

These are those times where I wish I was rich so I could help people like you who have been wrongfully scammed by people

TamingBeasts [2016-03-29 23:36:52 +0000 UTC]

Why don't you make a little bit more art of the first adopt and sell it for the original price?
The buyers will see it as a great deal and more interest might be put on her?

Question, is the charge back like a sort of scam? And is the person who caused it (sender of money) the one getting the money back? Because that would just be plain wrong...

Aiko-Adopts In reply to TamingBeasts [2016-03-30 00:12:55 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, the chargeback is a scam when people use it in that way, and it charges the artist a bit more to send back the money to the buyer.. :0

I'll most likely just accept points from now on.. it'll be safer ; - ;

I just feel bad and upset someone would do that to wonderful people...

Wow, that person is horrible!
$125 is a lot. Maybe you should resell them. I believe that person deserves to have their rights to the characters taken away. And I think your idea is a good one.

Momoroo [2016-03-29 23:26:27 +0000 UTC]

That is no small amount at all, I could pay all my bills for two months with that much!
It's just terrible that someone would do such a thing knowing that it will affect the artist, which is why I only take points even though they take longer.
