"You wanted to know what it was like to be dead...here's your chance, Jesse."

A darkened face smirked, and slid into the shadows. Jesse lay on the ground, the moon's rays filtering through his windows.  His vision grew fuzzy as he looked down, a knife peircing his torso.

His shaky pale hands barely gripped the handle of the knife.  The pain seared through him as he slid the knife out, his blood flowing freely.  He expected to die, and tossed the knife as far accross the room as he could.

His eyes widened as his arm began to seemingly dissolve, his body fading into nothing.  He felt a wierd pang, then blacked out.

"Do you wish to live? To breath fresh air, Jesse?"
Jesse sat up slowly, putting a hand to his head to stop the pain. Where was he? Was he alive...?
"I can make you live again.  You can see the sky again."  The strange voice continued to coo, but Jesse was too dazed to listen.  He shook his head, ignoring the pain that crept in further.
"I said, Do you want to take the test of life again?"

A female (or so it apeared) stepped out of the infinate black, the sorce of the melodous voice.  She brushed a hand across where the knife had been, and then spoke again.
"I can give you the gift of life, Jesse. Take it, or leave it."

Jesse floated, and thought about the offer.  He slowly nodded. "I'll take it."

He felt a vacuum form under him, and he began to fall...
