The flash actually helps make this even more lifelike in my opinion, like a ray of sunlight through the water or something.

Incredible work! Especially for an oil painting... those effects are ver difficult to achieve with natural media.

What a gorgeous painting--I love how it's so photorealistic, but there are fantasy elements. Without those, it would be easy to mistake this for a photo.

I do really love this work, it's quite photo realalistic. The only thing that gets to me is the total lack of a presence in the light blue area in the top and left of the work. A fish, sea weed, or even just a little darker water would probably break that up for me. But all in all, this is one heck of a painting.

This is amazing, with the intricate details, the faces in the coral reef, the texture of the fabric... It was Daniel that originally peaked my interest, but it is this piece that has fully captived my attention.

you look at it once, you're amazed! you look at it twice, you see more....
you look at it again, and you see the faces (at least that is what it was with me). I love the velvety look to the giant clam.
We are just starting oils in my art class, so now I can see what it can become!!
