Happy New Year everyone
This is my first picture that I've finished since I went to college, and I'm glad I still have some time for art. I really wanted to work without references for this piece, but I cheated a little and looked at google photos for a few things, like the butterflies and tree bark, but nothing major. I at least finished the girl without references at all. I'd love critique on this one, because this is really my first time trying to be a lot more conscious of the way people actually look, and I wanted to work on better understanding the human body and face. I've been working on this one on and off for the past few months, and I'm glad that it's finally finished.Please look at the closeup: [link]
Done in photoshop over the past 4 months, no idea how long it took. Hope you like it.

It's really good! I benn trying to draw fairies a lot, but they don't look that good. And I write anime and manga mostly. I'm new at drawing, and want to get really good at realistic people, but am practicing with this technique to get a feel for the shading and stuff like that. I think your painting is amazing.

DAMN. When I seen this picture all I had to say was well... DAMN.
And then I looked at the close - up and seen the eyes. The eyes.. The eyes... They look so...real! I could read the emotion in them. O.O Does that sound corny to you? xD It does to me. Well, anyways, I'm faving this.
Hmm...but I do have a teensy problem with the fingers. They look a bit stiff... Or fat?
