this is a book i'm writing about a girl buying a black heart locket at a rumage sale and it turns out the locket is, haunted, if you will. It is more supense that horror or anything like that.~~
Fifteen bucks. Man! That was a steal. This locket rocks! It caught my eye the moment I started walking towards that table at Elkhorn. It was nice. There was something about it that made it special. It was like i just entered a trance. Staring at it made me want to buy it more and more.
Abbey came up behind me.
"You gonna buy it?" She asked. She put her hand on my shoulder.
"Jesus!" I screamed and flinched. "You scared the crap out of me." I chose my words carefully, not knowing if any small children were around. "Yeah, Abs. I'm gonna buy it." I pulled a twenty out of my wallet. The man behind the table raised his eyebrows.
"Really?" He asked.
Was there something wrong with it. It looked perfect, the chain was in great condition, no rust anywhere. He handed me the locket in a sandwich bag.
"Thanks." We walked away. The locket felt warm. Was it the lights in the case? Was it something else?
