comparatively in good shape to other engines I have seen. I love those overhead air reservoirs

That is the first time I have seen air reservoirs positioned this way.

oh it is quite common, especially in Russia and Austria

I don't know about you but this machine looks relatively intact. All the plumbing and pipework, rods and reversing gear and any other bits you could want or ask for all look to be there.
In any case, you are to be commended for documenting the C&S 2-8-0s on display around those parts. That's something even an aficionado of the C&S/DSP&P has yet to do. XD (ME)

There are some open pipes on the other side. I believe (since I am not familiar with this engine) that the mechanical lubricator is missing.

I agree nick, this engine is all there. Shed probably need routine internal boiler work and then after that its under steam we go.

There's been talk of restoring this locomotive in particular to operation, but it hasn't really gone anywhere.
I sure as hell would like to see this puppy in motion. XD

From what I have heard, the restoration has been put on hold and that the town is fine with it sitting where it is.
So would I.

It's funny/weird that most of the pipes run horizontal bend at an angle, then return to a horizontal, then two pipes just meander across other pipes. I'd suspect a hasty repair job, if I didn't know better...
This is a sad state of a train
There is another person who I watch, who I found after he commented on one of your submissions btw, who had recently posted some photos of trains (in England) that are returning there for restoration and display. One, named after Eisenhower who had helped keep England secured during WWII, had been freely given to the US. It came here and sat in a museum because it never was compatible with our rail system. England asked politely for it back because it's more meaningful a piece of historica to them opposed to us. We said no but they could have it back for a couple of years and they could restore it in the meantime.

It could very wells be that the pipes that run over other pipes have been added at a later time.
One part that was not original, is the turbine generator.

well, that's what I saw as being a "repair job".

Sorry, I was referring to "that the pipes that run over other pipes have been added at a later time.
I didn't notice that the turbine generator wasn't original equipment.
