Description
Here is the next entry in my Kamen Rider Caster project; Caster’s Illusion Array and associated Crests.

Bio: The first additional form Anrima developed for Caster, the Illusion Array is based on the branch of Arcanian Magic that is usually the easiest to master. Unfortunately, Egete’s “try anything, see what works” methodology initially conflicted with the branch’s thought & imagination-based application of magic. It was after some motivation and a clearer understanding of his own goals, that Egete was able to access this Array and eventually master the associated Crests.

Forms:
-Illusion Array: “Gensou no Mahou - Maboroshi no Hizoku Jitsugen” (Illusion Magic - The Phantom Marauder, Materializes) The Illusion Array is the branch of Arcanian Magic that affects one’s thoughts and senses. This form lacks the same degree of physical enhancement as the Transfigure Array, but allows for better expression of the user’s Magical Ability. The following Crests work the most effectively when used in combination with the Illusion Array:
-Sound Crest: “Hibike (Resound), Sound Magic” A spell used in Arcanian arts and entertainment, the Sound Crest allows the user to generate musical sounds that evoke certain feelings in those that listen. For Caster, this crest arms him with a harp-like attachment on his right arm that when played can either soothe & lull listeners or emit ear-splitting tones, depending on his intentions.
-Stealth Crest: “Kakusu (Conceal), Stealth Magic” Used primarily to keep Magi hidden while visiting the human world, though it does have some use in Arcanian entertainment, the Stealth Crest creates a field of visual & auditory invisibility around a target. In the case of Caster, this Crest equips both of his legs with armor that renders him undetectable by sight or sound, so long as he maintains focus.
-Dowse Crest: “Sagasu (Search), Dowse Magic” Contrary to what some may believe, Magi are no more able to predict the future than normal humans, as the future is ever-changing; rather the Dowse Crest is used to search for specific subjects. Equipped onto Caster’s left arm, the Dowse Crest allows him to see and hear beyond his natural range through the crystal ball, with the attached pendulum able to guide him towards his intended subject and can double as a mild mid-range weapon.
-Light Crest: “Kagayake (Shine), Light Magic” One of the most basic spells in Arcania, the Light Crest allows the user to generate light of variable intensity. Equipped onto both of Caster’s arms, this Crest allows him to generate flashes or beams of light from the teal parts of the armor. This gives Caster the ability to blind his opponents at any time, but he has to keep in mind the risk of blinding himself if he is not careful.
-Copy Crest: “Utsusu (Duplicate), Copy Magic” Commonly used in Arcanian entertainment, the Copy Crest allows the user to create an illusionary duplicate; in Caster’s case, of himself. Outfitted with Crest Armor on all of his limbs, Caster’s duplicates move as he desires and are immune to taking damage; useful for confusing and decoying enemies. However, their offensive effectiveness is dependent on how convincing Caster can make his duplicates; the more real they appear to be (i.e. fully identical down to casting shadows), the more subconscious damage is translated to actual damage (though still not as much as a true physical attack).

Design: Rather than varying the stats (offense, defense, speed, etc) for my Rider’s form changes, I went with forms that have certain combat specialties. In the case of Caster’s Illusion Array, it’s focused on illusion magic but not so much on physical combat; visualized by this form having overall less/thinner armor than Caster’s Transfigure Array. A general rule with at least the base forms is that they have horns/antennae in relation to the difficulty of the branch of Arcanian Magic the form is based on; Illusion Array having one horn for being based on the easiest branch of Arcanian Magic. The horn itself is meant to be a translucent extension of the eyes, appropriately covering the location of one’s mental “third eye” & the Illusion Array symbol (which I’ve also shown un-obscured). I based the Illusion branch on Genjutsu from Naruto, thus the symbol of an eye with a 3-part spiral extending from it is based on the Sharingan. The colors for the Crest Armor were again chosen randomly, and apart from the “accessory” armors (Sound & Dowse), the others I tried to have subtle references to their functions (the dark-silver part of Stealth meant to emulate a stealth fighter, the teal parts of Light meant to be the actual light source, & the armor of Copy meant to look kind of nested).
