Nothing is known about this mysterious individual...he just- nobody seem to know anything. It's like he doesn't even exist.
But what does exist, is rumours...

Not too long ago, a Terran dreadnaught disappeared in the Kennar system, without a trace or even a SOS. Weeks later, a badly damaged wreckage of a ship was discovered on the desolate and storm-plagued planet of Talsohle, on the outer edge of the system.

The wreck was too badly damaged to identify, but it's a safe bet it was the remains of the missing Dreadnaught. A search for any possible survivors extended over the planet and others nearby but none was found, and all hands was assumed lost. The search and rescue mission did not last long, as the current Terran government fell. And in the turmoil that ruled, the case of the missing Dreadnaught became lost and forgotten...even after the new government emerged.
Then some time later, a rumour spread that there was a lone Terran on the planet of Der. The possibility that this was a survivor of the missing Dreadnaught was dismissed, mostly because of the fact that Der was situated on the opposite side of the system from where the wreckage was found.
The Terran was found by the inhabitants of Der, badly injured and in a state of near death. They took him in, and fixed him up, but due to his injuries -was unable to recall who he was, and where he was from. This rumour was starting fade away when the flagship of the Bimodian fleet was attacked and captured by a party of Derian pirates -and another rumour surfaced that a lone Terran was among them...

These be just Rumours? Maybe. But as you venture throughout the Systems and Galaxies, keep a watchfull eye, as it is said that a masked individual dressed in an old government Terran Naval uniform is randomly seen from time to time...

-but don't get too close, for it is also said that always close to him, something deadly is lurking, -something Snake-like...wich could only be one of the Cyber serpents Terran Admirals kept for personal protection...
...rumours? Maybe, maybe not.

So yeah...my entry for the Original Character Challenge.
The Family crest you can see on the face mask, hanging around the dude's neck, and on the belt buckle. He's got the cap -or hat, and the weapon (the snake). I wasn't actually planning to give a backstory, but as I were busy, I started thinking.
