Description
The AL-15 "Shikra" gunship, effective as an airborne superiority craft capable of high speed assault and lethal enough to combat most heavy ground vehicles. The Shikra is primarily an intra-atmo aircraft, but capable of being launched from orbital barges with full VTOL systems for ground operation.
It has the unique M.O.S. Array for both unrivaled battlefield imaging and anti-detection systems giving it the leading edge in aerial combat.
Its payload includes:
2 Nose mounted plasma assault cannons for mid armoured targets and suppression fire.
2 heavy 'Talon' Class anti-tank guns
8 G-Class missiles
Room for bomb mounting on the underside.
4 Self repleneshing plasma flare launchers on the tail
This particular Shikra (serial N4-808) belongs to Lt. Katrina Alderson who fondly named her craft 'Sasha' after her long time companion and wingman Lt. Sasha Streichter Ivannon whom is currently reported MIA behind enemy lines in the Beta Sector.
Lt. Ivannon gained noteriatey in the battle of Haskawa City when during the 3 day seige and subsequent aerial battle, she destroyed 13 enemy fighters and almost half the approaching regiment of tanks. Most say her efforts single handedly turned the most desperate battle of the last push into a victory.
13 Months later Ivannon was downed on patrol over K-238 and was reported MIA. Intelligence from the secotr is limited, but reports indicate she may be organising guerilla resistence against the occupation untill a carrier group can be sent.
So far Lt. Alderson's Shikra has yet to rack up as many kills as its namesake achieved at Haskawa.

Just an update for people, this had been put into CAd and should be rapid prototyped within the week, with any luck it will be on sale in the next year or two.

Excuses. But legitimate, valid excuses. I'll drop the line for now.
Friend codes... well, in Guild Wars, you can just download the client online, but you also have to make an account - that's what you're buying. Basically, if I give you a friends' key, you'll have access to 10 hours of playing, but after that, you'd have to buy an account.

I love the pencil work, detailed yet soft enough to flow.

Thats the result of the textured pad, usually I prefer to draw on plain old printer paper but I didnt have any to hand so I was using a fresh sketchbook. Its really hard to find high quality sketchpads that arent textured. Anyway like you said it gives it a softer/sketchier feel which can be beneficial in some instances.

Sweet... I'm SO an Ace! XD
I am thoroughly impressed with this one, Chis - I also love the backstory you written up to go with it.
The detailing is great, and I especially love the eye it's got going on there.
Man, you should hold polls more often.

You know, when I thought up the backstory, I considered doing another short comic strip detailing the adventures of your namesake........Its an idea.

zomg lmao!!!! This is awesome!!!
You're great at drawing machines!!! I could never get the symmetry or any of that down, which is why I've always stuck with drawing people etc.

PAH! Look at your artwork, its ridiculously good, I'm so jealous of your amazing photoshop abilities, me, I draw lines in the right positions and thats it. The rest is only my creative and imaginitive abilities.
Anyway:
I spent some time doodling and thinking about doing anothe brief comic based on that little backstory, about sash's adventures, It would also later feature your almost-namesake pilot Katrina 'Mad-Kat' Alderson. (I thought that callsign was apt).
Unfortunately term just started and I dont have easy access to a scanner meaning its likely not going to happen.

Hey, I can't draw lines (or circles for that matter) to save my life!!!! Honestly, you should see the crappy machines I've attempted! You have a way higher imagination for machines than I do, and you add so many details!
NO ARGUEMENT ALLOWED. I win, you lose. You pwn machines.

you pwn people.....in more just the art sense.
I'll admit I can do machines, and might be getting paid for doing so soon (yay!) but its a long way before I'm at the professional level.

Okay so I was nice and included not so subtle references to other people, but sash is the main focus.
I also changed the names slightly for privacies sake since I dont know if you guys would approve or not. There it is anyways, with a closeup on the decals.
