Here is a little concept doodle of a character in a story I've been writing. Still undergoing lots of changes and refinement.
Can't think of a name for the guy yet, or for his species.

He is a teenager whose family had been split apart during the war between the residents of the planet Athera and the private military forces of an interstellar megacorporation.
His home was raided after it was discovered that his parents had been sheltering a Kitsune refugee, the latter who were being persecuted and kidnapped en masse for reasons unknown. His parents were killed during the raid, but his sister and himself were somehow able to escape. However they were separated in the process.
After over a year of fruitless effort, he eventually joins the Atherian Resistance in order to have a better chance of finding his sister, and to uncover the reason for his parents' murder.

He is carrying a Kitsune hard light pistol. Relatively powerful for its size, it is a common sidearm on Athera, packing less of a punch than a plasma or positron blaster, but being far more energy and heat efficient.
