Description
You say you have a knife.I know you’ve attempted before.
My heart stops.
My eyes water.
My mouth goes dry.
My thoughts race.
I can’t imagine…
If you die…
I don’t let the thought persist.
“Put it down. Now!” I instruct through the mechanical voice that is my hurriedly typed words. I’m so scared, I can hardly breathe. I think to myself, you have got to be joking. Then again, this is going to be the first joke you’ve ever told that doesn’t make me laugh.
“Ok, I’ve put it back. I may or may not be bleeding already though…” you type back. I let out my breath, well, that’s the first step done.
“Clean yourself up, then we will talk,” I manage to type with my shaking hands. I run my still quivering hands through my hair and allow myself to relax for just a moment. This is turning out to happen more often than I would like. “You have got to relax now and don’t let the monster take you away from me.” I beg.
“I won’t let him win.”
“You had better not. We will fight him together.”
“I don’t need your help.” That is when I can’t seem to stand it anymore and draw my own knife. After all I’ve tried to do, after all I’ve done and you don’t even care! Then again, if I commit, who’s going to stop you? I satisfy the hunger with a couple of quick slashes on my own leg.
“Please, I love you, I need you…”
“You, you…You need me?” you ask, confused.
“Yes, I need you, Don’t leave me.” It pulls you together temporarily. I have some time before the next episode.
The day after, I tune in again to the same problem, a problem which is harder to solve every time but that doesn’t stop me, and it never will. You are my friend and that is never going to change. You aren’t dying on my watch.

I've tied to stop someone from commiting suicide repeatedly for a year and a half just to find out it was all a lie.
It devastated me and Ialmost tried myself.
The world needs more people like you.

This one really hits home for me.
Friend of mine died in my arms from suicide.
I'm sorry you had to feel this way.
Good piece, for sure.

You're welcome
Thanks. It's ok.
Not a day goes by that I don't think about him,
But I've finally come to accept that I can't change
what's happened...

Something like this happened to me, too... My friend disappeared from the Internet for a few days and then he told me he was in the hospital for attempted suicide... And then five weeks later it happened again he hasn't tried in a while though so that's good
but I'm sorry something like this has happened to you too...

Very poignant, all the more so because without a context, it's not known who "he" is, and who the two speakers are to each other, apart from the fact that they have a close relationship. It makes it that much more relatable.
It also highlights the contradiction between wanting someone else to stop self-harm, and being unable to stop oneself, as well as the multitude of reasons behind it- frustration, depression, escape, distraction, even love. I think many people see it as a way of getting attention or a call for help (which it sometimes is, in fairness), rather than an outlet that is simply not considered socially acceptable.
On a different note, I also like how you've written up this episode using short, strong sentences. It really drives home the emotion in each statement and gives the entire piece a kind of nervous energy that fits well with the topic.

While definitely interesting, emotional, and captures the reader, it's not something that the less mature should read. I suggest a filter/

You're welcome. I don't trust the community to be mature enough to read this and not go, "Oh, a self cutter talking to a self cutter. he/she just wants sympathy!"

People can be stubborn, or prideful. Sometimes oblivious. I've been guilty of all three.
