Description
This is a deeply personal piece.About twenty years ago, my grandfather made these painted star ornaments for our family Christmas tree. They're done in a variety of dot-and-flower motifs, all in red, yellow and blue. When I got my own place, the stars got passed down to me for my own holiday tree.
The star I had for the tree was kind of hideous - this ugly, cheap looking thing in red and gold. I decided to paint it to match my favorite of Pop's stars.
It's been 13 years since Pop was in the world, but I could feel him over my shoulder painting that star.

How touching story! Great painting decoration of the star, it gives it a cheerful spirituality.

Thanks so much! It makes me smile whenever I look over at the tree.
