I dunno, Courage Wolf has some interesting advice that may or may not be good - I haven't tried. One I've seen posted on a door of a dorm room:

Seriously though, this is a very interesting art style. I've never even heard of needle felting before I saw these. Cute, intriguing, and very impressive!
