Description
Look at this strapping young lad! Lupin has developed into quite a handsome boy, and he's only 1 inch long! This pint-sized beauty was another breeder cull like Esenem and Aria; he has a small kink in his spine near the base of his tail. Some breeders would have risked deformed fry to pass on his unique miniature size and beautiful coloration, but Lupin's breeder is a responsible one and sent him to me to ensure that he'd never been bred. He came all the way from Texas, and his name is derived from the scientific name of a blue wildflower common in Texas (he was mostly blue as a baby).Related content

Nice pic. I had a Beta named Greg (After Greg House), But then I got him a girlfriend three years later named Craig (Craig Ferguson lol) and he got really stressed out and died... Us women can be stressful. Anyway, when I got my girl Betta she was white and now she is twice as big as she was and she turned red... O.o

what a cool fish to have! I like the ones that are different this is off the subject, but i am reflecting on all of the bettas i have had..care to hear a tale or two? One of them was Omega (I have Kernal Omega now because he looks like the first Omega I owned) Well I thought Omega looked lonely, building his bubble nests over and over again...we (my hubby and I) already owned a really awesome cat named Jaden, who liked to watch Omega build his nests...well me not wanting Omega to live a life of solitude went and bought a female just for him...she was ugly compared to the beauty that was Omega...anyway she started eating Omega's fins until they were stubble...i felt so bad for Omega..after a week of the female torturing Omega, Jaden the cat decided that I wasnt acting fast enough (since I was not sure if this was normal or not) we reached in with his paw (which he had never done) and scooped out the female and had himself a betta breakfast....He never bothered Omega not once before or after the incident...I always think of that...i think that Omega and jaden were friends...up until i let my mother in law baby sit Omega and she spilled him all ovcer the kitchen floor...I will miss him and always have fond memories of him....ok you prolly think i am crazy now lmao

Ah - common problem for betta owners. Bettas are solitary by nature, and many pet stores fail to inform customers that not only do two males fight, but so do a male and a female. Most attempts to house them together for more than a few hours during breeding equals both fish injured or dead. Sorry to hear they after surviving his encounter with his lady-friend, he wound up being spilled.

I have more tales to tell l0l...after moving to a new house I decided I wanted another betta fish since I missed Omega so much...anyway i bought one and then another, but kept them in different bowls...any way one day after reclining on the couch I saw something big and bugish move behind the tv (not to mention i kept one of my betta's bowls on the top of the entertainment center above the tv) Anyway I screamed for hubby like I always do when my buggy senses are tingling...he looked behind the entertainment center and said...oh my god there is some huge tropical beetle and goes and grabs a knife from the kitchen...he stabs the bug a couple times and then looks at me with this look of pure guilt...I said what? and he said I dont want to tell you...he just murdered my fish....guess it was my fault....the other betta didnt last long...maybe he thought he would be murdered to because one day when I was cleaning his bowl he jumped into the garbage disposal and after 20 minutes of trying to get him out I gave up and flipped the garbage disposal on....I cried as I did it....man my poor bettas I have owned...but good news Kernal Omega is alive and well...I bought him in Arizona and have had him for over a year, he made the trip from AZ to CA in a cup...he is now living in a pickle jar since my kids broke his fish bowl...he seems happy...my friend says he is a well traveled fish since he has been all over AZ and CA
anyway just thought I had to share....
lol
