i don't think she is but this a joke on the whole gayzla fandum(if fact any gay avatar fandum) just because someone doesn't have a boyfriend doesn't mean their gay. i think that she fell for one of the docters caring for her ( an earth kingdom man).

The Gayzula philosophy has less to do with "someone not having a boyfriend = being gay" and more to do with how Azula acts toward each gender. She has better chemistry with girls.
I can't speak for others, but I don't automatically assume that people without boyfriends are gay. I thought Azula was gay long before The Beach aired, and I still think she's gay. Her behavior looked to me like a lesbian trying to confirm to societal expectations. She said she wanted to be normal. What's normal for a teenage girl? Flirting with boys. It was so forced and painful to watch. Meanwhile, her little "skit" with Ty Lee turned out better than anything else that day.
I think she likes girls. Bigoted networks will never allow it to be said outright, but one can make a case for Azula being gay.
You're free to think she fell in love with an Earth Kingdom man, or anyone else post-series. I don't have a problem with that. I'm saying that Azula is the only girl in the whole series who never showed a consistent interest in males; it was tacked-on and very forced, so I don't believe it makes her heterosexual or even bisexual. That's my view on it.
With a character like Azula, we're free to have our own perceptions.
