Description
One of the strangest offshoots in Hominid evolution in the world of Amphoraph, the highly aggressive and animalistic Raptor-Folk are by no means primitive brutes: matter of fact, they've taken the opposite route of atavistic advancement, becoming more like dinosaurs and reptiles than apes or other primates.Nearly hairless except for the unkempt black manes on their heads and a shock of hair down their backs, Raptor-Folk have deep tanned skin with natural patches and patterns of blackish-blue on their limbs and faces, and their anatomy is far more adapted to running both long distances and at high speed, with very deep and protruding chests in both men and women housing massive lungs, and highly developed thigh muscles and tendons in their feet and ankles, allowing them to adopt a default pose of standing and running on their toes. Raptor-Folk also do not use weapons to hunt, as they have evolved a set of natural weapons akin to the creatures they're named after. The nails on the fingers and toes have redeveloped into claws, allowing them to latch onto their prey and climb trees, while their teeth are almost uniformly sharp and arranged like blades to slice through meat and flesh - their diet is almost 100% meat, supplemented with fruit and insects, and they are rather infamously inclined towards cannibalism - in this case, hunting and eating other Hominid species. h
The Raptor-Folk are essentially humans trying to be dinosaurs - and they famously always wear the skins of carnivorous reptiles with the long tails trailing behind as if to reinforce this. But despite forgoing tools, weapons, or tribal society in favor of a bestial, savage existence, Raptor-Folk should never be underestimated as untintelligent evolutionary mockeries. All too often they prove themselves to be not only wickedly intelligent and socially adept among themselves, but almost... Clever.

The Raptor-Folk are a species I've been working on for a LONG time, and I'm glad I finally drew them down well enough to publish!
Comment, for the love of god.
