Description
CarrionDeath by columns, death by rows
Death by ravens, death by crows
Loved my brother, he loved me
Now he swings from the gallows tree.
Worked from dawn till evening bell
On our way, I tripped and fell.
Out the wire, off the lights
Camp broke out in vicious fights.
Backup power, lights back on
Fights broken up, stood on the lawn.
“Who made it so we couldn’t see?”
“Sorry, sir, but it was me.”
Wasn’t me who took the blame
Froze in shock, then fear, then shame.
Brother took my punishment
To the gallows he was sent.
Death by columns, death by rows
Death by soldiers, death by foes.
He took the blame for what I’d done
Killed for love in the setting sun.
