Description
First artwork of the year... Kinda a doodle... it's a little sloppy because the brush I used for lineart ended up killing me. >n< Tried some new things with shading, etc. like always. Just working to improve!! That's my goal for this year -- to try new things and improve. I feel like I should've shaded the lineart but... too lazy and I'm kinda done with this. o)--<She's the OC that's my icon right now, and currently my favorite. uvu I felt like she needed some art other than doodles in my notebooks so there you have it.
I hope everyone had a lovely new years!! >v<
Comments are very much appreciated!! <3 I'd love it if I could get a critique...
Art + Strofi belong to me!

aaaaaah so cuuute skyyy Q3Q
ooh lemme try giving you some critique!
It's great to see that you dare to go outside of your comfort zone in your art! that's a great step towards improvement!
I really like the shading here, it feels like you are working towards an interesting style! using manny brush strokes like you have gives of a more detailed look and gives the whole picture a greater impact!
one smal thing is probably that the neck looks abit long? idk ///
it does'nt ruin anything in the picture at all though! just a pointer.
aside from that, one thing you could try sky, would be to try to give the lineart more detail! dont be afraid to over do it, sometimes that can give of a greater impression!
for example, give the hair more strains that stand out, make the dress "wobblier", use more lines to give folders to the clothes!
there are plenty of good tutorials out there that might be helpfull for you!
ooh and I must point out that I love this character *A* her dark hair with her dark skin tone looks amaziiiing aaah~~ TTvTT
KEEP GOING SKY!! LETS IMPROVE LOTS IN 2015!!! >v<

*saves comment* Oh gosh Hachi thank you so much!!!
I'm glad you think the shading is okay... I've been trying to not be so plastic-looking as I have been in the past, I guess... I feel like my necks have been getting longer and longer ahaha i'll try to rein them in OTL OTL and thank you for the lineart pointer! i really need to just kind of experiment with clothing folds... I didn't think about being able to incorporate that into the lineart, though...! aaaah I'm gonna go try it!! ^q^ and more detail in hair aah yeah, that's something I need to work on. ovo
aaaaaah I'm so glad you like her!! >v<

its GREAT that you look at your own art and find things you
can work on! and I dont think this looks plastic AT ALL, and tbh
I think this coloring style works GREAT with your art! it makes it look so fluffy!
and remember that alot of brush strokes helpes the picture look more detailed!
ooh, but giving the lineart more detail will help you with the coloring cause the more
folds there is in the lineart, the easier it can get to add folds in the coloring too!
I would'nt mind showing you a few tricks some day if you'd like QuQ
