Basically in certain cutscenes rather than have the player in a 2d mode, this feature attempts to make the player believe he or she is looking at the cutscene in a first person mode.

basically after taking severe damage you are thrown into space and get to watch this cutscene.... although it is impossible to move out... you can freely view and interact with targets.
