Description
After a grueling 2 weeks of mapping, coding, fixing collision issues, moving shadows, fixing bugs etc...I managed to pull of one of the game's most important cities at last!
it still has no name and the city itself was originally made as a commission work, oh well code is code for me,
should the client not be satisfied I'm more than happy to take it for myself...
back on topic:
This city is split into 8 maps, if you've been following my updates you can also notice how I altered the overall
map structure itself... you see, I was planning on doing 10 (exterior) maps in total, but either they didn't properly
link up, got too empty or too cluttered and the tilesets themselves clashed.... let's just say removing those 2
maps made me redo the structure... thankfully the rest fits perfectly like puzzle pieces.
the city is compromised of 3 districts.... Lower, Middle and Upper Districts....
LOW DISTRICT: Serves as the holder for anything related to shops, items, services, inns, you name it,
here go your typical RPG restocking-needs.
MID DISTRICT: This district serves as both a place to progress in story, but also as temporal moments to
get some rare items, the middle building is totally accessible, (I'm mapping this one next)
and serves as one of the game's starting points.
UPPER DISTRICT: This is a rather special district... first of all, random encounters... the district looks rather "dark"
and out of place, it holds most of the lower-class residents over here and thus, prone to getting
encounters with thieves and thugs, good place to grind, there's a Pub you can visit there to get
stat-changing alcoholic beverages (the trip is worth it) just as long as you have no kids on your
party...
In overall, I gotta say... I love this map, my favorite sections would be the Lower and Upper districts in overall...
they clash, but fortunately are apart by the middle district, this city if used properly (by either my client or me)
can easily yield 2-3 hours of gameplay (provided we give it tons of interior rooms and a dungeon or 2)
either way... glad this gigantic map is done at last XD
