Your gallery amazes me. You even make photoshop manipulations look so convincing I failed to notice this was digitally enhanced at all...
It makes me want to get a thumbtack and distress some photos just to see what it feel like to create art by destroying it.
Needless to say, I love this...

When I started out I added so much texture and layers trying to get a certain old, grungy feeling, when I realized that just don't happens with old stuff.

Yeah, I'm always tempted to go overboard with textures, I think half the skill comes from knowing where the boundary lies.

you can add fake ones in photoshop ( haa haa) using brushes as this is what i do sometimes

no it was stock from somebody else here at dA, can't remember. try searching for tree brushes
