Y'all I'm screaming looking back at our old 2012 comments. Time has flown and so much has changed, haha oh goodness.
It has arrived, the biennial Big Rax Story Chart! Wowsers!! I still have the very first on file, and it's impressive how much your lineup has expanded and how your graphic skills have improved. Ideas settle in, connections become clearer, and intriguing new stories come into play. I'm especially curious about the split timeline! How lucky that my two favorite stories, Kindaworld and Realm of Dreams, fall into the same 'verse. If you're ever comfortable sharing, I'd love to learn more about this splitting! I wonder what happened, hmmm... Big shoutout to the fanfics, too! They're just as beloved as our personal projects! Any chance you'll ever share these, even just among friends?
I think any multi-story writer should have something like this. It's a neat, bite-sized way to familiarize yourself with another person's works. Thanks for the update, dude, as always it turned out beautiful!

Right though? Lmao we've known each other for so long oh my gosh haha.
RIP oh my word I somewhat remember that old dorky screenshot I did of an Excel spreadsheet. Wasn't it super small and really generic looking?? I can't believe you still have that haha. I don't think I even have that still. x'D I could've made some other graphical improvements but I didn't really feel like bothering since they're kind of minor / don't really bother me that much.
"I'm especially curious about the split timeline! How lucky that my two favorite stories, Kindaworld and Realm of Dreams, fall into the same 'verse. If you're ever comfortable sharing, I'd love to learn more about this splitting! I wonder what happened, hmmm..."
Fun fact! The storylines that split the timeline (Sword/Soul of the Dragonkin) actually loop into each other a bit. SOTD2 (this is how I abbreviate the one starting with "Soul" and the "second" story) is actually the first story (and I first created it when I was like, around nine years old? It's been through some revamps haha). But SOTD is also the first story! It's one big time paradox / loop going on haha. TL;DR the time traveling character in the story kind of hardcore broke things/the timeline and that's why there's a timeline split. :'D YA DONE GOOFED, VESTY.
"Big shoutout to the fanfics, too! They're just as beloved as our personal projects! Any chance you'll ever share these, even just among friends?"
I'm hoping to share them, yes! Forsworn Storm (FSFS) is completed (it's around 110K words total); I'm mostly just in the latter stages of proofreading for the 11037th time (I've actually had it completed for like at least half a year at this point? I finished it somewhere fall of last year/2017) and debating whether or not I want to draw some artwork to include in it for funsies haha. Do you have a Toyhouse? I'm really hoping to share it on there since they've recently made an option to upload Literature to the site and I'm IN LOVE with the layout/interface/options for uploading Literature. It's so dang handy oh my word. I love Toyhouse so much. It's set up so dang well / they've made some super snazzy features in my opinion. (I'm like. Not comfortable sharing / posting it to dA/Tumblr though. So that's why I ask if you have a TH aha.)
The KingdomEllipsis Trilogy is still a massive work-in-progress. It's a REALLY extensive story in comparison to a one-off thing like FSFS. So it's gonna be waaaay in the future.
And concerning my Danganronpa: Zetsubou Kudaku story, once I finish it I hope to show it off too. I'm actually REALLY excited about DRZK personally. I've got so many fun/cool things planned for it. ;w; I love Danganronpa so much I wanted to take a stab at it (aheheh get it?) myself, although there's no way in heck I'll be anywhere as good as DR's actual writer, Kazutaka Kodaka. But still. ;w; I'm so excited like you don't even kNOW. AHHH. It's too bad I sort of suck at designing human characters/outfits though; I have way more experience drawing monsters instead haha. ;A;!
"I think any multi-story writer should have something like this. It's a neat, bite-sized way to familiarize yourself with another person's works."
Right? I think it's helpful to have a chart if you've got more than like, 4 stories or something because 5+ stories and I'm sure everyone is gonna get confused what story's what after a while. That's also why I made little symbols and color-coded everything; I hope it makes it easier to pick apart / remember it when there's actual visual cues involved. I know if I was an outside party I'd be SO bloody lost if someone was like "SO I HAVE 17 STORIES..." and expected ME to remember them without some guidance. (This is another reason I've been including the icons on my TH characters' profiles. So it's more immediately obvious which story who belongs to! Also TH having folders is so nice too. I bloody love TH's organizational shenanigans!) ♥♥
I'm hoping to be able to focus on my stuff again soon. I've neglected my poor stories/characters for like over a year and a half at this point due to life being obnoxious, so I'm really excited to be able to focus on them again. ;w; About time!!

Ohhh yeah I have that ye olde spreadsheet as well! ((Pass those organizational skills my way, dude, haha.)) I never would have expected a time paradox to come into play, but looking back it's not surprising! The nature of the Se-nathiir Kaba is surreal by default... dualistic, untamable, as hard to grasp as smoke. So Vestnar musta done something BIG to cause a timeline split like that. If you're ever up for it I'd love to hear the details! Sounds like you've been making good progress with the Dragonkin stories.
...and good progress with your fanfics as well, congrats on finally getting to the editing! Fanfics are tricky because you risk dealing with the bad half of a fandom and nobody wants that. So sharing them privately is a wonderful idea! Though I don't use it, I do have a toyhouse. Lemme know if you need a beta reader or a reading/writing buddy, I'm armed and eager!
Your use of color codes / symbols / themes is so helpful! We humans are visual learners: when we see something, it's more easily committed to memory. Charts, diagrams, and lineups are also good ideas, I wish folks did it more. They're so fun, too!
I'm sorry the past couple years have been so strenuous on you. Life commitments like to take over sometimes, so give yourself time and gentleness and I'm sure you'll get back on that wagon. You got this buddy!!

You can skip over this if you don't want to read it; my summary ended up being kinda long whoops.
That's totally accurate - you nailed it lmao! Vestnar kind of MAJORLY FRICKED UP. SOTD actually has a really fun backstory when it comes to how it ended up developing. Back when I first created SOTD2 (as I mentioned, I was like, 9 - it was my second storyline that's stuck around for as long as it has, ROD being the technical first, which I started when I was 6), my stories were pretty simple since I was just a kid. So it was mostly just really generic "good guy versus villain" kind of bullcrap. Because of this, as I matured + became better at writing, I kind of scrapped the storyline for a while since it didn't feel like it was developing as well as my ROD series was, which I put more of a focal point on for a good portion of my life.
Cue me learning about things called "AUs" and realizing that having multiverses was a thing, and my fascination/love with time-related concepts, and I thought I'd resurrect SOTD2 as an AU of what the original story was meant to be, which is what SOTD is. (This is why SOTD2 is technically first - it's the original story. SOTD is the AU.) I'm gonna get back to this point in a second but I need to make a detour to explain something else -
When I was 9, most of my characters had really simple names so I could remember them. Most of them were combinations of letters and numbers, like "4V" or "CB" (or read out as "Forvi" and "Ceibi" and whatnot - Forvi's full name is now Forviscus for the record). "AKDU" was one of them (now Achducius ), and you might see this if I ever start sharing more about my stories/characters, but that abbreviation pops up more than once as a symbol of extreme negativity. Basically, Achducius' name has some really negative connotations to it.
Anyways, in a really basic gist/summary, Achducius is kind of a world-ending entity. He's kind of got a major "Alpha and Omega" type of theme/motif to him. The beginning and the end? He's got the power to both create and destroy, and ends up doing so - SOTD2 he is the antagonist of the storyline (which is the original story), and messes up the order of the world / kind of goes on a rampage. (And keep in mind - Achducius is basically a child of Raxgond's. Raxgond is basically the deity of my entire series/the entire Se-Nathiir Kaba by the way, making Achducius hecka strong, to put it lightly.) This is what causes the world to go into chaos in Realm of Nightmares/etc.
Back to the point about AUs I was making earlier - I thought it'd be fun to explore a story in which Achducius wasn't the antagonist. What if he was the hero of his story instead? What started out as a simple AU idea quickly expanded into a full story though (dang don't you just love when writing exercises just flesh out themselves? haha). So this is what SOTD is - he adopted the name "Vestnar Rauki " in this storyline, which separates him from the All-Powerful-Very-Negative connotation Achducius' name has. TL;DR - in SOTD he is the hero; in SOTD2 he is the antagonist.
SOTD's events are what causes SOTD2's events though - to paraphrase it in a way that's not 100% accurate to what happened but gets the idea across, he is betrayed at the end of the story, causing him to become really upset/go on that rampage I mentioned. He basically jumps to an alternate timeline to change history because those he once considered allies he now considers enemies, and ends up wreaking a lot of havoc on them. (The irony being - in the timeline he jumps to, they don't even know who he is or why he's so angry at them because the events of SOTD never happened in that timeline, so he ends up altering history and being viewed as just this destructive force.)
But because of what happens in SOTD2 (and Achducius/Vestnar kind of realizes how badly he's fricked up everything - as he gets a glimpse of what is to come because of what he's done - and remembers a timeline in which things weren't like this), Achducius tries to go back to the original timeline to fix everything, giving him the motivation for what he does in SOTD. Unfortunately, he ultimately ends up forgetting the second timeline when he makes this jump into the original. They loop into each other basically; both of them inspire the events of the other story. It kind of exists as this perpetual time loop. Achducius' fate ends up basically reliving these two stories over and over again as history repeats itself, therefore causing the timeline split as both timelines exist in parallel to each other. Make sense? C:
"Fanfics are tricky because you risk dealing with the bad half of a fandom and nobody wants that. So sharing them privately is a wonderful idea! Though I don't use it, I do have a toyhouse. Lemme know if you need a beta reader or a reading/writing buddy, I'm armed and eager!"
Amen to that - fandoms scare the crap out of me. I've seen so much discourse about characters and stories and whatnot, which is why I don't want to share it more publicly on sites like dA or Tumblr. That'd be like throwing my poor story out to the wolves to defend itself! No thanks lmao. Some people get REALLY bent out of shape about the smallest things - like heaven forbid you have a different interpretation of a character than them. But honestly - everyone sees things in a different way. Different interpretations are bound to happen; it's just how people perceive things. I don't know why some people act like it's the end of the world when they come across something they disagree with though, but it's that vicious mentality that makes me wanna stay clear of fandoms/communities. Yikes!
Besides, I wrote it for myself and my fun. I never intended to originally even show this story to anyone, so it's not like I have a need to get it noticed or anything. (Actually, I'm one of those people that gets HECKA anxiety about getting my stuff too noticed OTL.) But hey, sharing it amongst a couple of friends might be fun if they wanna read it. I trust them not to murder me for writing a fun little story, haha!
I authorized you on TH! TH lets you pick exactly who can and can't see things actually. (Like, so even though I authorized you, I ALSO have control over authorization lists, so say you have multiple people authorized, you can have like two lists and separate them out and only let List 1 see certain content and List 2 see the other content. It's ridiculously handy and lets you have full control over who can/can't see your stuff? Dang I love TH.) So I added you to an authorization list for it! I have yet to actually publish FSFS (again, I wanna proofread at least one last time before releasing it because I want to make sure I formatted it correctly on TH and all that crud), but being authorized means you do get to see a few of my locked/hidden characters I've got on TH too. (They're mostly like....... designs I'm still trying to figure out what the frick to do with them. I've got ideas but haven't solidified whatnot for them since I've been so bloody busy lately. I also have some locked characters on TH only I can see right now, but you at least get access to a slightly handful more now that you're authorized on there!)
"Your use of color codes / symbols / themes is so helpful! We humans are visual learners: when we see something, it's more easily committed to memory. Charts, diagrams, and lineups are also good ideas, I wish folks did it more. They're so fun, too!"
Right? I also think it's just interesting to see a little comparison/chart of stories side-by-side. I'm one of those people that likes to see a lot of information at once too (like seeing a lot of art at the same time in an art dump or something), because it's just interesting looking at all of it in one place! Plus if I didn't organize it, I think I'd be pretty confused myself since it'd otherwise just be this clusterfrick of OCs running rampant haha. OC avalanche!
Thanks for all your support and kind words over the years, by the way. I appreciate it a whole lot. You're always such a sweetheart, and it's a blessing to have you around! ♥♥

Yooooo this is insanely cool, thanks so much for sharing all this info with me! Suddenly it's a lot clearer, the relationship between Vestnar and the sinister Archducius. Hasn't he ever heard of the butterfly theory? Your timeline may be safe, but the slightest change can have a huge ripple effects. Haha! I like that it loops back into itself, as well. There's something so fascinating about timeline loops, and the SOTD loop seems very well orchestrated. So is Vestnar essentially a re-interpretation of Archducius, ie essentially the same character but under different circumstances? Wowsers...!
It's special how we each have a unique way of interpreting something. Like no joke: one can headcanon a tiny world into something vast and amazing, and we'd never know this if it weren't shared. So it's too bad fandom is the way it is. OOF. But so long as it's respectful, I welcome it! And I'm sure your interpretations and stories are great, so I look forward to someday reading your fanfic writing. Thanks for authorizing me!
Awww you are super welcome, Rax, and thanks again for telling me more about SOTD. Your storytelling always leaves me so inspired and curious, aaa.

I just popped back here to see how the [Seldrac] series aligned with the others, and I realized you edited the chart! Ohoho, you and your sneaky updates~
Gorgeous new layout, though! It pleases the eyes now in the same way that it pleases the imagination. And I like how everything is grouped into two larger groups, with sub-divisions within. So would you say that the entirety of your headspace, in its literary form, is called The Se-Nathiir Kaba Galaxy, or simply Se-Nathiir Kaba? I've been hoping for an "umbrella term" for your paracosm's story, and this seems perfect
Nice update overall, Rax. I am totally re-faving this!

Ahaha you make sneaky updates all the time! But yeah, this is about the third time I've updated this little sheet; it's nice to have it to refer to / keep track of, although the description is way outdated because I haven't been keeping it up along with the chart. (It gets a little hard to constantly update this description.)
Oh I'm glad it's looking better now though! I myself usually just refer to it as Se-Nathiir Kaba, which can get a little confusing what I mean if I don't specify the galaxy or the solar-system, since they share the same name. Most of my stories are wrapped into the galaxy as a whole, but my main stories are in the solar-system. KingdomEllipsis and Subeta don't exist as part of the galaxy or the solar-system though - the Subeta characters of mine being in, well, Subeta's lore and plotlines (the site has its own history and world / setting / lore, and a lot of it too) and KingdomEllipsis being A SECRET at the moment, ahahaha.

Ahaha I'm that way too when it comes to updating. Curse our overactive imaginations!
Augh don't you hate it though? I have that same name problem. There's the Aman5 trilogy, the system after which it's named, then the entirety of my paracosm that's called Raurana. UNTANGLING THESE TERMS IS SURPRISINGLY HARD. Thanks for clearing that up, though! Complicated series like this are amazing (brava again, by the way!), but can be tricky to grasp unless you know the specifics. I hope to someday learn how exactly Eidetic Tapestry sprouted from Realm of Dreams, or how the Se-Nathiir Kaba group is linked to the other systems. The awesome thing about worldbuilding with friends is that there's always something new to learn... <3

"I have that same name problem. There's the Aman5 trilogy, the system after which it's named, then the entirety of my paracosm that's called Raurana. UNTANGLING THESE TERMS IS SURPRISINGLY HARD."
I can imagine those two terms get frequently mixed up actually, given their similar natures. Also it's interesting to know the term for your overall world - I didn't actually know you had one, haha.
"I hope to someday learn how exactly Eidetic Tapestry sprouted from Realm of Dreams, or how the Se-Nathiir Kaba group is linked to the other systems."
You can basically think of The Eidetic Tapestry as the vallen's story, and I used to even refer to it as the unnamed vallen story. Originally, it was kind of a subplot within Sable and Inheim's storyline arc, but after a while I kind of realized it was too expansive and important to be just a subplot within a subplot within a plot, and decided to include it as a separate storyline that runs simultaneously with the Realm of Dreams series, since Sable's storyline is the second book and Inheim's story basically runs throughout all of the books, building up to his involvement in the end of it.
Se-Nathiir Kaba is linked with the other systems / worlds mainly through the way it uses magic. I.e. the reason the planet Dyrm (where the Seldrac story takes place) is considered related is because an incredibly important character to the series is basically an Inquathan, which hails from Kindaworld, which is a dream world within the Se-Nathiir Kaba solar-system. Dyrm was basically influenced by its neighboring solar system earlier on in its growth and then branched out from there in a different way, which is also what essentially happened in The Nexus Trilogy as well.
The other shortstories and plotlines I've labeled as Miscellaneous on the chart I currently don't really know where they take place in concerns to my main world / setting, they're just ideas I've fleshed out, with the exception of a few such as the Subeta ones (which obviously take place on Subeta), or the KingdomEllipsis trilogy I'm still working on. I would say, however, that they are also related to my current world. I.e. Sven's storyline (The Sixth Swan) is probably in the same solar system as Dyrm and The Nexus Trilogy, which seems to have themes of "traces of magic" rather than a 100% magical world. Know Your Enemy and Azarias are equally related to each other... Sword of the Dragonkin is me messing around with the alternate universe (AU) idea / concept. Agony Eternal actually spans across all worlds, not just my own little setting, due to its nature. It could potentially infect anything, basically. And then I'm really, really not sure about Binary Code but talking about all of this makes me want to sit down and work on it some more...
...when I'm less busy, that is. xD

Luckily I have only ONE STORY and only ONE UNIVERSE I work with, so there's not too much to get tangled up. Raurana is the galaxy; Aman5 is the story, the story's eponymous system, and the name of the project (worldbuilding and story) as a whole. This stuff isn't nearly as confusing as the term "Ribbontail". I've still got to put my big kid panties on and do a little guide to "Ribbontail". Uuuskjfksjf
Okay okay but I see now, thank you very much! The stories of the Se-Nathiir Kaba galaxy are so deep and intertwined that it takes even ME a bit to figure them out, especially since there are so many things you keep secret (not that I blame you; I try my best to do the same). I'm suddenly REALLY curious to know just what linked the Se-Nathiir Kaba system with those beyond it; I love it when planets/systems have shared pasts without being overtly linked. It gives the universe a sense of commonality, of unity, without being totally intertwined.
BUT AIN'T THAT A BITCH, we worldbuilders never seem to have time to flesh out things. I find that it's best to do it when you're waiting throughout your tedious adult life. The Raurana galaxy is so developed because I work things out at red lights, in line, on buses, and though it makes me spacey it definitely helps my universe out. Now... now if only my damn hands can keep up with my brain. THAT'S my problem!! Hahaha.
(We worldbuilders never get a break, do we? :3)

Having only one story is definitely easier to sort out, because it sometimes can get kind of confusing to me when I've got several different plotline shenanigans going on, sometimes at the same time as others, and the spread of my characters, and the cameos, and the AUs, and it just gets complicated aha. Thanks for clearing up the definitions between the Aman5 and Raurana terms. :D I think a guide to "Ribbontail" would be utterly fantastic, whoa! I'd love to see all the "ribbontailed" characters in one place. :'D

They really are; anytime I try to explain something to Dad about them, I usually get off on a hundred little tangents because everything is related to everything else and I have to explain C to explain B to get to the point of A. xD Sometimes I even end up facepalming while I'm explaining because wow. I'm suddenly REALLY curious to know just what linked the Se-Nathiir Kaba system with those beyond it; I love it when planets/systems have shared pasts without being overtly linked. It gives the universe a sense of commonality, of unity, without being totally intertwined.
Well, one of the things about the Se-Nathiir Kaba is that it's magical by nature. If you put something (i.e. a second solar system) that is non-magical right next to something with magical properties, that magic is bound to "leak" just a little, when it's so deeply rooted to the very mechanics of life and the worlds itself as it is. There were probably originally extremely early civilizations that were able to access those "leaks" and have them influence various... things really. When it comes down to it, all life is intertwined in the same fate by invisible threads; everything everyone does influences something else in the great web / scheme of things, so it's only natural that a neighboring solar system would have effects on another one nearby, I'd think. Oh I've been wanting to do the "Ribbontail guide" forever: Ribbontail is a character AND a set of characters AND a motif AND me as a human being. Folks have always asked about this and I'm fearful that some perceive The Cunning as my 'sona-- based on her name alone, without realizing that MY name draws from the MOTIF. It's...
-throws hands in the air-
...it's something else, I tell you!
And yeah a Ribbontails group pic is also a must. I may alternately do one showing who/what each Ribbontail character represents. All 14 are either a part of myself or another person-- can you guess them all? Hahaha.
YOU DISCUSS YOUR WORLDBUILDING WITH YOU DAD AAAAAUGH YOU'RE SO BRAVE AND LUCKY. For more people, worldbuildings is really hard to talk about because most people in the real world may think it's... a strange hobby. I used to co-worldbuild with my sister Crystal124 , with whom I share the Ori'al system. Hopefully your dad doesn't get as confused as you when it comes to tangled storylines.
That's so cool though, and it makes sense when you think about it! Stellar pasts, ancient civilizations, and the whole mystery of the galaxy. Aaah. Suddenly I'm curious to know the deep-down secrets of the Se-Nathiir Kaba, and who is connected to what and how and by whom. Sometimes it's cool to keep those things secret and let them go without audiences noticing, as I do with so much of Aman5. But the Se-Nathiir Kaba is such a deep-running and explorative series that it would be cool to dig into. kfjalfj
(I've still got my fingers crossed for a galaxy map, too. My offer's still open: if you ever get around to doing a basic layout of the Se-Nathiir Kaba, I'd be honored to help you out with the map itself!)

So I have like a ton of messages from you that I never responded to because I fail, so -

Haha, honestly NeoRibbontail seems to be more of a "persona" of you than The Cunning, but that might just be me, and I'm well aware that you've got quite a few ribbontail'd characters and whatnot and that you really just identify with the overall symbol / motif if I'm not mistaken (like your icon, since you announced this a bit back). But honestly seeing a huge guide of all that together would be so handy (especially for the people who aren't familiar with your storylines and shenanigans).
And yeah a Ribbontails group pic is also a must. I may alternately do one showing who/what each Ribbontail character represents. All 14 are either a part of myself or another person-- can you guess them all? Hahaha.
I sadly can't guess them all! Hahaha uh. I'm also not sure if Puppet / Alpha / Kohima counts as more than just one or not (I'm guessing just one; Mimeo / Neo count as just one, too, right...?).

I actually tone it down for him a lot. (Like, A LOT. For instance, Shaznalt the sexually-abusive-violent-piece-of-trash gets simplified to "he is a jerk") I don't think he'd be alright knowing the full extent of how... off the hinges some of my characters are to be perfectly honest. And he never really remembers what I end up telling him, and I don't think he actually listens to what I'm saying whatsoever so, most of the time when I'm talking to him I just end up feeling ignored / like I've wasted my time.

I really, really, really should get that galaxy map I was making done. I just end up getting involved in so many other things that I never end up finishing any of my longterm goals, man. But that would be such a useful little resource to have in my gallery, and might clear up some shenanigans since I'm positive my world / setting is really confusing to everyone else since I don't have a visual for it / something that explains it with clarity.

Yeah, exactly! And that's the reason why I have several "Self" characters: no single one defines me. In high school I used to be the NeoRibbontail tough, grinding through my problems like a pitbull... but recent years have hacked me down to an anxious, almost meek James type person. This is why Neo and The Cunning are my teenage Selves. Neo embodies my at-that-time ferocity and gender dysphoria, while The Cunning represents my femininity and religious sides I often find myself trying to push away. Eeeh it's very complicated. I'd love to write up an essay on the Ribbontail group and how each embodies me. I dunno if I'd have the guts to post it all, though...
Ahaha, WOW though, I can't believe you can sugarcoat Shaznalt that much. Ahaha! But I understand why you'd put it as such, especially with Pop around. It's too bad he isn't too keen on listing to your worldbuilding, but hey it's a very particular art and we've gotta remember that! Also remember that we here online are more than eager to hear any updates, stories, information, and all the little tidbits of the Se-Nathiir Kaba.

If you ever get around to organizing your galaxy map, just remember that I'm always here eager to help! I'd love to do another galaxy map and yours would be perfect! Either way, can't wait to see. CAN'T WAIT.
By the way, I just adore the fresh and new series guide! It caught me by surprise due to the interconnected arrows, but after gazing at it for a while it all made sense. Very nice layout, and very helpful for grasping all the new stories you've been concocting! They seem less intimidating once you can see everything all in one place, huh? I love the little icon designs, too. They're very exotic and stylized. Very nice work overall!!

Aaaah now this is neat!! It's a simple little diagram-- perhaps a bit overly simple at first glance-- but it really clears up a lot of confusion about who goes where, and how. Nice graph overall. It'll really help me visualize the whole thing!
(Would you mind explaining the difference between "branch-off" and "related"? I think "branch-off" may mean "events in A lead to B", whereas "related" merely means "share a similarity", but I dunno. Haha!)
Although each of your series has something unique, I think my favorites would be either Realm of Dreams or Kindaworld-- possibly because they just seem so otherworldly, and that's my favorite setting in fiction. I hope to hear more stuff from the other series, though... you're always holding back info and though I can understaaaand that...
-grab-
IT'S TANTALIZING. Arrggh. Drives me crazy dude. :U
The Nexus trilogy sounds seriously awesome though. I recall you briefly mentioning it before, so now I know what it is. Cool!! There's no type of duo that I like more than the human/creature pairs, especially if said creatures are ENORMOUS and MONSTROUS. There's a certain beauty, when beasts like those must work with a human...
Thanks for posting this chart, Rax. It really shed some light on your series.

I wanted it to be fairly simple, actually! The more simple it is, the easier it is to comprehend, and I was going more for comprehension factor than an aesthetically pleasing layout / graphic. In the design world, sometimes simplistic is better. The point is often to get the meaning across - thus charts and graphs and the like that are so often used in businesses. C:
I'm pretty glad it helps you! That's what I intended it for. And it also serves as a nice little place to link to all the characters I've introduced thus far (kind of like what you do in your journals). I may or may not format a journal of some sort like that eventually. I want to have an official and full list of my characters somewhere, although more than likely that'll be on my password-protected Tumblr blog. (I intend to link to Charahub pages for that; it's a useful site, although it's currently in beta testing and has a lot of things that need fixing, haha.)
What I meant by branch-off versus related is this - the Seldrac related series is essentially somewhat indirectly influenced by characters from the solar system the Realm of Dreams series is set in. Dyrm (the location of the Seldrac series) is not located in the same solar system. Gavan Adelio is the creator of the Seldrac race, and he discovers a planet (Dyrm) that's similar to our earth - there is no magic and the only sentient creatures are humans. He creates the Seldrac race to be protectors, essentially, of these humans. So they are the only other sentient race and they're also magical by nature. So a character from the Realm of Dreams setting has influenced this world, but this world is not directly a part of the Realm of Dreams series, it is only related.
As for branch off, originally the Vallen series was a part of the Realm of Dreams series, but I developed it further until I realized that continuing to have it a part of the original series would take away from it, because it's developed into an entirely different story that branches off of the main one and goes a different route of which characters we're following. The Realm of Dreams series is mainly about Orcane. The Vallen one, however, follows the characters from the second book, The Snow Angel. So while the events are happening at the same time of the Realm of Dreams series and then continue after it, it's not the same story - it branches off of it, rather.
Does that make sense?
Hee! Well you'll find out eventually (orm hopefully, SO MANY THINGS SO LITTLE TIME!) what they all are. I was intending to make the KingdomEllipsis storyline first, but I think I may go ahead and start on the Kindaworld series instead, since the former requires a better since of how-to-draw-humans and the latter is more look-monsters-everywhere and I'm more skilled with monsters / animals, by far. And that makes me curious about which of my stories people are most interested in! I created a poll so I can figure that out, haha.
Haha yup! The Nexus trilogy actually started as a fun little writing exercise and developed into three books, which is fun. The second and the last books I think will be more exciting that the first one, but that could just be me. (The first and the second books are the same story from different viewpoints, because I wanted to show how there are two sides to every coin, and you can't get the full story unless you know both sides.) Oh gosh but I can't believe I haven't shared like anything from this story. Oh my goodness how ridiculous! Haha, I should remedy that. x'D

Aaww that's true! Although aesthetically, in this chart, I would've lined the boxes evenly because I'm obsessive-compulsive like that. But yes, that makes perfect sense now-- thanks for explaining it!
You should REALLY share stuff from [The?] Nexus... because as I said, I happen to LOVE human/monster duos. The same goes for Kindaworld, which is just so fantastical and silly at times (a la WAFFLEBERG). Seriously, if the fellow Kindaworldians (haha) are as cool as Waffleberg and Mastiff, I'm in~

Wait wait, where are they misaligned? o^o I was pretty sure I set the rows / columns with the same height for the borders and whatnot.
( Also yes, technically, The Nexus trilogy's official title contains the The. :} )
Oh gosh. I'd love to share some art eventually for it. Why am I so bad at drawing humans. I intend to do the 100 Theme Challenge eventually (a.k.a. probably in twelve years) which will include some of The Nexus trilogy artwork... I really want to draw the villains more than the main characters for that one, haha. They're too much fun, hee. :'D
YES Waffleberg. I like my character Waffleberg, but nobody takes him seriously! Poor guy, haha. He really is a character though; I have to wonder if people thought he was a joke. x'D That's part of the fun of the Kindaworld series - I have so much freedom with the creatures there because everything is these crazy dream monster things. :'D

Don't worry, it is a bit misaligned but something only picky folks such as myself would notice. Hahaha.
But yeah, The Nexus Trilogy really does sound awesome, and I love the premise. Do you have any of the characters drawn out? I don't think so considering you're so hesitant with your humans, but I'd love to see them!
WAFFLEBERG IS SERIOUS BUSINESS MAN. Although I can definitely see how others can see it otherwise. But seriously. Sentient waffle-people?! YES. We need more of this. <3

Oh okay, haha. I didn't even notice it, so I'm not even sure where the misalignment occurs. xD
I... sort of... drew Idunn the other day, one of the characters from that trilogy. Although it's really obvious I went nuts with it though, aha... But it is accurate to her design, even after going nuts. And in retrospect, I honestly think the screwed up everything about that picture is quite fitting, so I guess it all works out in the end. Strangely. I should draw Tjasse (pronounced tee-ASS-see) and Idunn (EE-dunn) together sometime. C:
I'm so glad you actually take him seriously! I think you're... the only other person besides myself who does, actually. Even one of my friends that drew him for me doesn't exactly take him seriously. Poor fellow! x'D
