I personally agree edelgards goals over the other lords and the church.

Lol, someone on YT drew the comparisons between them as well. Maybe they'd get along eh?

While TH was a step back in the right direction overall, I still feel it borrowed way too much from past FE games, in particular Genealogy. Hopefully the next original entry will be more...well, original.

And more than that, huge fingers crossed that Genealogy gets it's much deserved remake for its 25th anniversary!

Edelgard tried to remain emotionally aloof in her aims, while Alvis inexplicable turned into a massive asshole towards Sigurd at the end of his life.

Like, seriously, he seemed to revel in branding his friend a traitor, shoved his (unknowingly) brainwashed/amnesiac wife in his face while possibly expecting a reaction of horror/scorn because he framed him for killing her father, and then personally executed Sigurd himself with Uber Fire Magic that not even Tyrfing can effectively protect against.

Comparing arvis to edlegard may look good on the surface,  but whilst arvis is working for an evil god,  edlegard is trying to overthrow a god who is very similar to the Catholic church of the middle ages,  who has some aspects of the imperium from warhammer 40k

"Arvis is working for an evil god"

Yeah, you've clearly never read a thing about him.

They're both manipulated into gaining their beliefs by a shady dark mage figure. They have their differences, but I feel the comparison is accurate.
