I put this in "Paintings & Airbrusing" for the simple fact that the "brushes" I used for this 100%-created-in-Photoshop piece were from a set of Wet Media Brushes. It's "Fanart" because, well, I don't own Superman.

So, that said...

The inspiration for this piece is part "Superman" by Five For Fighting, part teaser for Bryan Singer's upcoming Superman movie, and part a strong desire to do something from start to finish in Photoshop 7 using my Wacom tablet. I recently acquired a handful of brush sets from Digital Art Tutorials and was inspired to do something that looked like a traditional painting for the most part. So, this morning I set out to do just that and, here you go. I'm actually very pleased with the way it turned out for more than one reason--not the least of which being the fact that this is my very first fully digital artwork--and I think that it instills the feelings I was aiming for.

So, I hope you all enjoy this and feel free to critique as I am actually looking to make this a prominant style in my forthcoming art. In any event, thanks for taking a look at it!
