For me, this series represents the struggle the body is having with the soul or mind. Some kind of rebirth. When looking to the colors - blue means healing and red means pain. It's not about death, it's about finding yourself...

Light Experiment
What you see is pure photography and no manipulation!
This photo is made with 2 strobes and a long shutter. I flashed 2 times during the exposure. The model was holding the red strobe on her side, flashing the tree and ground. Another strobe with a blue filter was operated by me. So during the exposure, she had to jump and we manually had to fire the strobes on the same time. This timing took us a lot of tries, and this is the result I wanted.

Concept
We've always had cats at home. Only 2 of them died on a natural way. I noticed both of them had a feeling... Some kind of realization they are at the end of existence.

Without any bound of society and in the middle of nature, I show a person. Being photographed on a surrealistic and experimental way. Unrecognizable, so you can fill in anybody you want, but especially yourself.

Running away from society brings her into a deep and psychological journey. An experience where she will come face to face with herself, life and death. The inner desire for change and alternation is gnawing. Loneliness and fear create a new confrontation between good and evil, unknowing what is to be defined correct or bad... The soul is not longer attached to the body, and her soul not longer to the world.

The photos are unmanipulated. Effects are obtained with a long shutter time, manually working with strobes, colorfilters, and a simple flashlight.

Editing
So what is edited?
- I cropped a little (to get the feet in the center)
- slightly more contrast
- unsharp mask (on feet)
- added some light in the blue shadows
that's it! This photo looks very hard the same unedited.
