I figured it was time to take matters into my own hands and do "Encanto Pokemon" art myself
If you want something done, do it yourself, they say
I will say, there were some changes in the pokemon teams along the way, but I don't regret how it turned out.

You'll notice a lot of the Madrigals born into the family each have their own eeveelution pokemon, for reasons that reflect that while an Eevee can be whatever it wants, it's the unique one for being the only normal pokemon

Here are the Madrigals and their AU pokemon teams

PEDRO: He had an Umbreon because it symbolizes that he and Alma belonged together, the way light cannot exist without darkness.

ALMA: Her Glaceon reflects how she comes across as cold towards the Madrigals who don't meet up to her expectations. And the Litwick's supposed to reflect the candle she always keeps with her.

PEPA: Having the gift of weather, is it really a surprise she has a castform in her party? There's Jolteon in her party as well, since her making it "Thunder" can also allow her pokemon to properly use Lightning.

FELIX: Cherrim probably stays in its sunny form, since his trainer has such a sunny disposition

JULIETA: Her cooking can heal you, so what's better than a healing pokemon and a cooking pokemon? Farfetched helps her cook, and Chansey helps her heal. Flareon is also in the team because fire is a cook's best friend.

AGUSTIN: I promised there would be a Spinda in his team, and I made good on that promise. ^w^

DOLORES: I never imagined she would look cute cradling a whismur and a sylveon in her arms, one for being quiet and the other for being as demure as herself.

CAMILO: When you're a shapeshifter, you make it a point to surround yourself with shapeshifters. Ditto changes shape like him, kecleon can blend in like a chameleon as he does, and Zorua matches his sense of mischief. I added Vaporeon because it can blend with whatever body of water it swims in, just as he can blend in with whatever company he's with.

BRUNO: He was my favorite to draw in this picture. Sandshrew is in the party for being associated with falling sand. Raticate and Ratata are stand-ins for the rats he lives with. Xatu shares his oracular gift, and Absol would be his friend for being misunderstood.

ANTONIO: I more-or-less gave him the team I said he deserved. I changed the Toucannon into a pikipek because its scowl didn't look friendly or welcoming enough for Antonio's company. Cyndaquil's a stand-in for coati, and munna for the tasir. And I gave him an eevee to reflect he's so young and still has yet to figure out what to do with his gift. If anything, it gives him a connection with Mirabel.

Commentary: I based Alma's face off of James' grandmother.
I based Julieta's face structure more-or-less on Ash's own mother.

If you look closely at Camilo, you'll notice he has a Zorua tail. Is he the real Camilo, or did he and Zorua switch places? I'll never tell
Also, the Kecleon was an addition at the last moment, because it took me a while to realize he had chameleons on his poncho.

Speaking of last-minute pokemon, the sandshrew was also an addition because (and I kick myself for this) it took me a while to remember Doloroes associates him "with the sound of falling sand".
