Description This work has probably taken longer to finish than just about anything else I've ever worked on; mostly due to extraneous events happening rather than the complexity of the image. Originally this project was started in mid-2003 and I've only just now finished it.

I originally modeled this using a combination of Poser and Bryce; the basic female default figure from Poser as well as a basic skull. These components were imported into Bryce where, after many delays and changes, the other shapes, forms and textures were all applied and rendered.

After being rendered as a 20x30 inch canvas I began the laborious task of airbrushing over the basic textures and forms using Photoshop 7. For the most part this post-production work was preformed with a single-pixel airbrush tool, occasionally going as high as a five-pixel brush.
By using such small brush sizes it greatly increased the amount of effort and work required but it also made it possible to work in the tiny details visible in the full sized canvas; some of which can only be hinted at and glimpsed in this much smaller preview.

Quite frankly the sheer volume of work required was quite intimidating and resulted in my working on it only sporadically from 2004 until now but it is finally completed.

Ok, you win the crown for patience, that is for sure. It's bizarre, strange, almost alien in a way and positively cool as hell.

Very creepy, but very well done too. However, I feel as if the part where the "halo" attaches to the skulls looks a little flat. Was this purposeful?

I like the colors youc hose too!

Yes- I wanted that partial ring connection to merge in with some contrast to the overall texture of everything else.

The figure and skull model is from Poser 4, the basic work was rendered in Bryce 4 and then Photoshop 7 was used for post production airbrushing and the addition of details.

Wow. See I've never even considered multipe programs in my art. I simply use Photoshop. I do have Maya, but it's so complicated I hardly work in it any more. Thanks for offering me insight on your artistic process.

Wow. This is an awesome piece of Artwork. Definitely well worth the time you spent on it. The clarity of detail is astonishing. I love the sheen of that smooth textured metal. It's just fantastic.

The imagery is great too, as you seamlessly blend the biological with mechanical elements. Very much like the work of H.R.Giger. The lighting effects make the image look so real, as well as adding superb depth.

It's an amazing achievement to create Artwork of this quality, and I thank you for sharing this astonishing image.

His influence is noticeable, but you've added your own unique style to the image. It's beautiful Artwork. Many thanks for the reply.

I think I love it Daniel, but it's got a huge watermark in the middle of it that stops me from being able to soak it in!

It's sort of a sad statement that such watermarks are becoming a necessity
