you are right,the hand and flower are not as good as the rest of it.
but like d.o.f we are made to notice what is important.
the expression is amazingly real and interesting.
caught my eye and pulled me in.

I absolutely love it.. It must have been hard. You can almost detect the color of his eyes from the shading.

finally, a drawing with character! (i was so tired of looking at bad anime...) this is great work, but you're right, the hand does look a little stunted. i think all it really needs is for the palm to be lengthened a bit..it almost looks like a child's hand on an old man hehe..
love the texture on his bowler - actually does look felted like real bowlers do.
