Her name is Princess Projectra Winzor. In the 30th Century, the world of Orando is the richest of all worlds in the United Planets. But the Orandian people are a people rich with history, with a culture steeped in tradition. The tradition of the royal family of Orando, the ruling party of the planet, is the passing of a great ancestral power from mother to daughter, which has lasted centuries. However, with the death of the queen and the mother of Projectra, aka “Jeckie”, her powers have transferred to her daughter and only child prematurely. With this magic power of casting great illusions now at her command, Jeckie also must take up her mother’s duties as queen, serving alongside her father King Voxv. However, this was too much power and responsibility for the young Jeckie to take and she ended up running away from home under the cover of Orandian night. Disguising herself with her powers, Jeckie got off-world and she traveled to New Chronos, the capital of the United Planets. On New Chronos, she traveled imemdiately to the headquarters of The Legion of Superheroes. She remembered a few months ago, when the Legion came to Orando to stop a crisis, and she fell in love with the idea of joining them one day. Now is that time. The LoSH is now recruiting reserve members from across the U.P. and tryouts here on New Chronos will be ending soon. Jeckie shaped a costume that completely disguised herself and she entered the tryouts under the codename: “Sensor Girl”. Not only can Jeckie cast illusions, she can see past any illusion, whether is be illusions of time, distance, size, or even death. The trials that the LoSH put her through for the tryout were passed by Sensor Girl with flying colors, using her enhanced sensory powers and the combat skills she learned as a member of the Orandian royal family. The Legion voted to let her in as a trainee member, and Val Armorr, aka Karate Kid, master of martial arts, elected himself to further train her in combat skills. A month passed since Sensor Girl joined The Legion of Superheroes. Sensor Girl, who has never revealed her identity to anyone on her team, is still a trainee, meaning she has a Legion Flight Ring, but not a shoulder patch nor an official badge. One night, Val went up to Sensor Girl’s room, and found it was ajar. He walked in, only to find Sensor Girl, unmasked! Val immediately recognized Sensor Girl as Princess Projectra of Orando, and she, frightened that she was discovered, cast a field of darkness to obscure herself in fear. Val fought through the highly-realistic illusion to confront Jeckie, who he first met when the Legion first came to Orando. Eventually, Jeckie dispelled her illusion and they talked, civilly. Jeckie told her story to Val and he agreed to keep her secret. But only if she would seriously consider revealing herself to the whole of their team, on her own. Just then, the security alarm rang out! Sensor Girl, Karate Kid, and the only other members of the Legion at their headquarters, Five (the leader), Triplicate Girl, and Colossal Boy (everyone else was on separate missions), encountered the intruders who busted down their door: The Fatal Five! The leader of this supervillain team, the Emerald Empress, said that they decided to end the Legion for good instead of waiting for them to stop their latest schemes. And thus she sicced the remainder of her team on the Legionnaires here. As Emerald Empress squared off against Five, Validus, the strongest and most vicious of the F5, fought Colossal Boy, Tharok, a powerful cyborg, fought Triplicate Girl, Mano, who has a poisonous touch, tried to kill Sensor Girl with it, and the Persuader, a powerful fighter with a molecule-dividing axe, went toe-to-toe with Karate Kid. Sensor Girl managed to best Mano, but saw that Persuader was close to killing Karate Kid. Unable to reach them in time, she used her hidden powers to cause horrifying illusions to subdue Persuader and the rest of the Fatal Five in one fell swoop. The SCI Police arrived at the Legion’s HQ to take the defeated villains into custody soon enough. A day later, the assembled entirety of the LoSH met in their conference room to hear Jeckie’s testimony about who she really is and why she lied about the fullness of her powers. In the end, all of the Legionnaires voted on whether to let Jeckie stay on the team or to discharge her… and the result is they are going to let her stay (under probation, of course)! Jeckie was elated, and gave Karate Kid a huge kiss to show her appreciation.
