Description Absolute Devil:
After so much time away from the battlefield, the dark vigilante known as The Batman had lost time to make up for. Now using his new persona of young billionaire/genius/philanthropist Bruce Wayne, Batman began acquiring the means to construct a new headquarters, The Batcave, beneath a disused lot in his home city of Pittsburg, PA, which contains a crime lab, a motorpool for his Batcycleand prototype Batmobile, a safe house, a medical bay, and storage for his batsuit and various crime-fighting tools. As well as rejoining The Justice League, Batman also got back into contact with his partners in the Matchstick, a cyber-vigilante movement he helped found, most notable Barbara "The Oracle" Gordon, who is now also The Batgirl. One night, Batman discovered a signal coming from a bank which indicated a hacker attempting to access people's accounts. Batman traced the signal and confronted the man responsible, but the perpetrator was actually glad to see him! The man introduced himself as Dr. Thaddeus Sivana, an archaeologist for the Eclipso Foundation, and said that he only hacked into the bank because he knew no other way to find help from Batman, as calling the police would be useless. Sivana explains that a metahuman confronted him over an artefact he collected. And then another metahuman attacked the first one and Sivana, fearful for his life, ran away. The way he described their appearances alerted Batman to them being The Marveland Black Adam, the former having a grudge against the latter. Batman summoned other members of the Justice League; Superman, The Flash, Green Lantern, and Doctor Jones arrived and he explained the situation to them. Superman, who informed Batman previously of their past encounters while he was gone, had multiple run-ins with The Marvel and one with Black Adam. He also informs Batman that Marvel is actually a child unwillingly given his powers by Adam and has suffered for it, so he shouldn't be held responsible for the murder of Patrick O'Brian, a former FBI officer, which Batman saw him commit. They set up a trap for the two magic metahumans, using the artefact as bait. The next night, Adam confronted Sivana in a warehouse and demanded he handed over the artefact. Sivana pulled the object, the shard of a magic sword, and handed it to him. Adam examined it, but it was too late for him to notice a small bomb Batman attached to the back. It exploded in a blinding flash of light, and Batman, Flash, and Green Lantern attacked. Adam tried to capture Sivana, but it was revealed that he was actually Dr. Jones using his shape-shifting power. The real Sivana tried to run off, but The Marvel then showed up, but Superman arrived to fight him as well. The three-way fight ended with Marvel knocked out, but Sivana and Adam were gone. They didn't see that Sivana was trying to run away with the shard, and he stuck it into an elderly man's coat pocket without his knowledge. Batman saw this and tried to pickpocket the shard, but the old man cried Shazam!and blasted Batman away with lightning. The old man was actually Black Adam's normal form, and now he's flown away with the shard. Thankfully, Green Lantern was able to record Adam's unique energy signature so they could track him later. They found Adam heading for Salvation Hospital, in the American Southwest, and headed there. Adam had already arrived and defeated the hospital's security personel. The JL arrived and saw that the patients were some of the villains they defeated and that were taken into custody by CADMUS, meaning this hospital was also a prison run by CADMUS. When they reached Adam, he broke through the plexiglass door leading to the cell of Jason Blythe, a member of the assassins known as The Secret Six. Blythe was unfazed, and jovialy invited Adam for tea. Adam said that the horn-like shard of metal in his forehead is the final part of the Shieda Blade, the weapon the Lords of Order and Chaos used to imprison the Seven Sins, and demanded that he take it back. Superman said that forcing the shard out could kill Jason, but Asam does not care. The Marvel then showed up to fight Adam, seizing him by the neck and throwing him out of the hospital to get away from the Justice League. The League, Adam, and Marvel fought each other to a stand still, and then the cloaked figure who first helped lead Marvel and Superman to Adam in Lebanon, unleashed a horde of demons on the weakened combatants! The figure then incapacitated Jason and teleported away with him, telling his master, Klarion, that he has the final shard. When the halucinations of demons subsided, Marvel and Adam were in their human forms, and they learned that Jason Blythe was gone. Flash resuscitated Billy Batson, the human identity of Marvel, and Adam demanded their help with the Shieda Blade. Adam explains that the Blade was forged by a race called The Shieda as a weapon for the Lords to imprison the Seven Sins, the first tyrants of Earth, millenia ago. But the Lords then turned on the Shieda and imprisoned their souls within the Blade. Their most powerful warrior was the last to fall, and he cried vengeance as his soul was torn from him. If someone were to reforge the Blade, it could mean disaster for the world. Adam then agreed to free Billy from his powers if he helped destroy the Blade. The Justice League, Marvel, and Adam flew to the only logical location that Jason could be: the ruins of the Sins' castle, which turns out to be near the ghost town of Chernobyl. In the underground systems beneath the fields outside the city, our heroes found, amidst the alien-like arcitecture of the Seven Sins' capital city, Klarion and his hooded accomplice Envy, one of the Seven Sins and former majordomo of their leader Wrath, using a magic ritual to remove the final shard from Jason's head and form all the shards and pieces back into the Shieda Blade. The League, Marvel, and Adam fought through Envy's illusions, but they were too late. The shard was removed from Jason's head and the sword was reformed! Β Klarion had become too powerful on the offset, but the combination of Superman's heat vision and Marvel's and Adam's lightning blasted it out of his hand and towards the weakened Jason. A hand then formed from his leaking blood and took the blade; another Shieda like Klarion saying he is free and here to kill Klarion for selling out their people to the Lords for the Blade! This Sheida is the warrior Adam spoke of, Etrigan! Etrigan slew Klarion, and Envy high-tailed it out of there. Etrigan then used his magic skills to fully heal the League, Jason Blythe, and Marvel, but Marvel realized that Adam had gone as well! As for Etrigan, with the Lords and his own people dead, he decided to give the Justice League the Shieda Blade and leave for the modern world of humans and find a new purpose; Jason, no longer demented, decided to go with him. At the Fortress of Solitude, Superman used his heat vision to completely melt the Blade into slag, so that no-one else could use it. As for Envy, he reappeared to the head council of Algol, who bowed to him as he is the right hand of their god. He stated that he used his mental powers to subtly convince Superman to fully destroy the Blade so it cannot be used against their master again. To us, he pulls back his hood to reveal his true face and name to us... Desaad.

Notes:
* Dr. SIvana will return, this time with the curiosity to drive him to study Marvel's power, and the courage to act on it.
* Eclipso will also play a part in my next storyline.
* Marvel murdered Patrick O'Brian because he had gone mad after mutating into an ooze-like metahuman and attacked Washington.
* Salvation Hospital is named after the storyline Salvation Run, where supervillains were imprisoned on another planet by the UN forces.
** Other patients of Salvation include Savage, four of the other Secret Six members, Firebrand, and Vixen.
** Because I don't want to use Arkham as a location if I don't need to.
* Jason Blythe was a survivor of the Benghazi attack, and an explosion from it hit him with shrapnel from a crate of materials he and his team, the future Secret Six, confiscated from a compound they didn't realize was an Algol lab.
** That particular shrapnel was the final piece of the Shieda Blade that Algol had found.
* When Flash noticed that Klarion's white cat, Teekl, was the same cat that the crime baroness Roulette had, Klarion offhandedly mentioned that she was a minion of his until he killed her for disobeying him and 'mishandled' Teekl.
** Teekl wandered off after Klarion died.
* Now it's starting to come together with the revelation that the Dark Side and the Seven Sins are two different names for the same group of evil entities.

So, let me try to guess:Β
Pride- Steppenwolf ( not sure ). Greed- Kalibak ( or steppenwolf) . Lust- The furies ( donΒ΄t know which one ). Envy- Desaad. Gluttony- perphaps kalibak, I dunno. Sloth- granny goodness. Wrath- Darkside
IΒ΄m probably wrong on all of them, but I just wanted to try

Wowsers.

So Klarion is on the left, and Etrigan is on the right?

Man, I wonder what Jack Kirby would think of your redesigns.

Your world here is very complex. I admire that. This arc seems to tie a lot together. I can't help but wonder what you're doing next.

So what was Sivana's investment in all this?

That he was being stalked by Black Adam and needed Batman's help.

So then why did he defect to helping Adam half-way?

He didn't. He was trying to get rid of the shard and head for the hills.
