Ba-dum crash!So anyone remember Super Paper Mario? It was decent and looks better after the disastrous last two installments in the Paper Mario series, but my memories jump to a specific part of the game, whereΒ devilish doppelganger and arachnid abomination Mimi pretends to be the shaman Merlee in order to trick Mario and company. While it's not in my memory, i'd like to imagine she got rid of the mystic by stashing her away somewhere, left to struggle as the villain pretends to be her.

I remember 2 main things about Super Paper Mario. One: Incredibly disappointing gameplay, it just felt like a watered down normal Mario game with a sorry excuse for partners. Being able to play as Luigi, Bowser, and Peach to get across different challenges was great though. 2. Honestly the best story in the series. And that isn't easy for me to say, I have a very very VERY special place in my heart for Thousand Year Door,I love EVERYTHING about that game, but I like the story for SPM a LITTLE bit more, it definitely keeps the charm and character of the previous games.
Also I very much like this head-canon of this part of the game, no better way of dealing with a pesky mystic than some good ol' ropes.

I always thought Merlee's veil-thing looked like a gag. I saw a screencap before I bought the game and thought she'd get tied up at some point. Kinda disappointed when that didn't happen, but the game was still fun.Β
