In the darkness she waits.

Cold, helpless, terrified.

She thought she was safe in her home.

They showed her how wrong she was.

Torn from her dreams by many hands.

Pulling her from her warm bed.

Tearing at her clothes.

Now naked, vulnerable.

Hands running across her bare, trembling skin.

Binding her so tight she could barely move.

Silencing her cries.

Robbing her of her sight.

What did they want from her?

They take her somewhere else.

Travel for hours - no idea where she is now.

Far away from anyone who might help her.

Go ahead scream, there's no one to hear you - they taunt.

They hang her painfully by her wrists.

Her body stretches to reach the floor but to no avail.

The gag is removed.

They ask her many questions.

Tell her all the horrible things they can do to her.

It doesn't matter.

She does not know the answers.

They remove the blindfold, put the gag back in.

The room is damp, dirty, and dusty - old worn stone, and the occasional rat.

No one's been here for years.

They'll let her hang here for a few hours.

Maybe that'll loosen her tongue.

They leave, the slam of a thick door.

The sharp snap of a lock turning.

She shivers, not just from the cold.

Alone.

Despite the pain, she sleeps.

She is startled awake by approaching footsteps.

How long was she out?

The door lock clicks open.

She is terrified.

What will they do to her?

Howdy guys and gals!

This seemed like a good one to lead off with.

The reason the story is so short is because this was never intended to be posted, it was simply an experiment in volumetric rendering - trying to get those "god rays" looking just right!

The more I played with it - the more I liked it, so figured "why not?"
