White spots fill the air, blurry conditions everywhere.Yellow and bright, what a wonderful light.
A wonderful shot I took while it was snowing, I just loved it!

I suspect if you desaturate and darken the lamp post (not the light itself, just the post below it), it would be perfect

I would definately do that but I have absolutely no clue how to isolate a part of the photo without taking a long grueling process.

I see you use Photoshop Elements.
It features a "burn" brush, which darkens whatever you brush over. You can choose the range you want to darken too (highlights, midtones, shadows). In the same area you'll find a "sponge" brush which is used to de/saturate areas using the same brush method. They should work a treat on this image, because the area is complicated at all
