This is an interesting shot.
The chain is quite confusing, it's complex. But you focused on this 'confusion' and fused it with its beautiful regularity in a fading-out perspective. This gives a real depth to the photo.
The cold tone of the chain is complementary to the warm color of the buses in the background. I thought for a while that the setting sun was hitting the vehicles ... But NOP, just yellow funky buses. And I don't know why, I even thought they were reflections on a window.
However, there's something disturbing, and that's the dead plan in the middle of the composition. I think it is just distracting and doesn't add anything to the photograph. Plus, it is on focus and I don't think this helps the clarity of the photo. It actually disturbs the nice evolving continuity of the chain which could have been a very smooth pattern from the end of the perspective - on the extreme right - to the part on focus.
I'm curious to know the author's intentions behind this photo. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/w/w⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="

Well the dead plant in the middle of the picture is to convey the message that this picture was actually trying to represent. I was trying to get the message across that there is a fence in every world, holding people back from their dreams and wishes. The dead plant is meant to be a sign like "Hey look what happened when something tried to get past", when in reality it's just there to scare you away, keeping you in line like the rest of society.

I'm very impressed with this work. Not only have you taken a boring chain link fence with a boring weed thing that you would see everyday and made it interesting to look at, but you have also given it a certain statement left to be interpreted however which way viewers will. The yellow from the buses really accentuate and punches up the vibrancy of this pic and it feels almost alive with a certain energy. I really think this belongs in a gallery of some sort, or even better, in a National Geographic featuring ordinary things that can be made interesting with perspective. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="

They do. In little small dosages. Sometimes we miss them or overlook them.

But that's what I like about your photo. I would normally overlook it and if I didn't, destroy it absentmindedly.

Great idea for a shot but I think it could be boosted a little if you clean it up a bit. Check the background clutter and the weed, for me they detract a little from a great vision and good use of DoF

The background is actually supposed to be like that, it has very nice contrast to the blandness of the fence also the weed is a symbol in the picture so I can't really take it out

What a great shot. I've never thought much of taking photos of a chainlink fence; you turned the subject into something very artistic
