Double LifeOne-Shot
Saphh’s life as both the son in a noble family and as a world know pirate.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Saphhire De Visola woke at 7 o’clock, quickly making his way to the shower and dressed in his school uniform, white button down, black blazer, tie, jacket, dress pants, dress shoes, all with the school logo on it. He tied his long hair in a high ponytail and placed his designer navy colored square frames on his nose before he stood in front of his full length mirror making sure no hair was out of place and his clothing was not rumpled, torn, or dirty or he’d have to redress in one of his spare uniforms.
Satisfied that he was in perfect condition to face his parents for breakfast, he made his way gracefully down the stairs into the dining room. As one of the elite he was not to rush or run and every move was to be fluid and delicate. He made his way into the dining room where both his parents already sat.
“Saphhire, you have made us wait too long already. Sit down and so we may have breakfast.” his mother commanded snootily despite the fact he’d entered the room at 7:20 on the dot.
‘Fucking bitch.’ Blue whispered in his mind, echoing his own thoughts.
Blue was for lack of a better word, his split personality. Blue had been created when the pressure of both becoming a proper noble, a perfect politician, and opening his mother’s dream library had become to much for him. Blue had taken on the personality that he’d hidden behind his quiet reserved nature. His more ruthless side, the side that loved pulling pranks on innocent people while they floundered to figure out who it was. Blue, however, was much more violent than himself. Blue had taken his dream of going on adventure and seeing the world and became a pirate in his only free time, when he wasn’t managing a library, learning of politics in college, and learning the odds and ends of being a proper heir. He was know as Captain Blue Mist, the richest pirate in the world and killer who didn’t move, killer with water or as some said blue mist.
Saphh didn’t much care that he was known as a killer and really would have been happy about being a pirate, if only it were actually him as Pirate Blue Mist. Instead, he managed books, went to school and was taught etiquette. It made him sick just to think about and most of the people he met made him want to either stab himself or them. And he couldn’t really be mad at his other personality, what with Blue being the only person who actually cared and didn’t want anything from him. He wasn’t even sure why he didn’t just abandon his position as heir and sear as a politician and go off seeing the world and living all the adventures that Blue did all the time. All he knew is that he lived every day miserable but he didn’t dare leave this life.
“You have four classes today and at 11 o’clock we’re having a meeting at Dale’s firm so set up Devi’s debate. You also have a shipment of new books to the library, dear.” his father looked up at his wife, all of them knowing it was really her library though Saphh was force to take care of it. “Also one, Professor Lamon wanted to discuss your paper that you turned in yesterday. I wants you there in his office after your class is finished. Senator Carlson also set up an appointment to look over your suggestions on his campaign at 3 o’clock today. You here me Saphhire.” The man barely glanced at his son as he said this, though Saphh was used to it. His parents rarely spoke to him unless it was to tell him what he was doing that day or to criticize him.
He nodded and finished his breakfast before heading to his classes and his meetings, he found a time in between to go the library to sort out the books and take care of his necessary problems that needed his attentions. In the few minutes in between he’d either read or do the many logic puzzles and riddles that kept his mind in top working order, sometimes doing them while he took care of his work and any papers or assignments that he’d gotten during his classes.
After all meetings were discussed, all classes attended, and all issues sorted at the library. Saphh climbed down into one of the lower rooms of the mansion. There were so many that his parents didn’t use them all anyways, so Saphh took one near the water and with it’s door hidden perfectly from those that didn’t think along his more tricky mind wouldn’t know where it was much less get in. It was booby trapped as well, so that those who found it would be caught by him personally when they tried to get in. In this room was his pirating gear, and it had a secret passage that ended in the water and only his DNA could access it either way. He stripped off his pristine suit that he’d worn to his meeting with Senator Carlson and pulled on his captain’s outfit. Braiding his hair down, pulling on his jewelry and wearing his custom off the shoulders white top and black halter-top corset. He pulled on his captain’s hat and slid his pistol and sword at his side, slid a dagger in his right boot. He had bullets, gunpowder, razor wire, and other needed accessories in pouches at his side and dove straight into the water.
Using his tail to help him move faster Saphh swarm in the water, bypassing sea creatures and heading straight for the familiar dark blue line that he instantly grabbed upon seeing it. Sliding his boot into the loop, he pulled on the line and was lifted out of the water and onto the deck of his ship. Greeted by his crew, he replied and they shoved off on their next adventure. Except it wasn’t Saphh who was in charge.
Saphh watched in growing misery, as he still didn’t get to live the life he wished. He hoped one day it would be him that lived this life and not his other personality. But for now he watched as his other half, laughed and drank after stealing another pirate’s loot right out from their noses.
He wished he wasn’t trapped in watching the life he wanted being played by another.
