Description This is something that I made a while back for a school project. We had to create something science based, but in a form other than a research paper. This little interactive explains the basic cat Mendelian genetics, and how they would look on a cat.

Please do not point out errors and expect them to be fixed. I am not planning to fix this unless I was going to redo the entire project. Any mistakes in information I take credit for, so do not expect this to be 100% accurate as a source.

ERROR: On the eye color panel it should read: If a cat is white over the eyes, the eye will be BLUE (not white).

Do not steal this or take credit for it. Do not post anywhere else without my permission.

Also, please do not sell cats made with this tool for points or any other currency. These designs are available to anyone for free, so no one should be given payment for art that I made. You can use designs from this, just not the actual art, sorry.

Reiterei In reply to shadowfurrTY [2017-01-24 14:52:54 +0000 UTC]

You would start with the base color, in this case black. Then on the Orange page, you would add the Calico spots. Then on the dilution page, you would change from black to grey, if desired.

You can add varying levels of white on the 'White Spotting' page

I have a all white cat with pink ears, paw pads, nose and eye membrains, her skin is pink but she has green/gold hazel eyes. do you have any idea what might cause this?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Reiterei In reply to TwinWolfSister [2016-05-09 13:42:33 +0000 UTC]

Since she doesn't have blue or pink eyes, we can rule out Albino. So that would leave us with the either 100% White Spotting or the Dominant White Gene, W-, which is one that I didn't have listed in this flash game. As the name says, it is dominant and will mask all other colors, resulting in a pure white cat with any eye color. Without family history, it is more likely that it is the Dominant White than the White Spotting.

Actually pretty informative, and the cats you can make are pretty x3 Thanks for making it! (also, great job on doing so)

Wonderful work! :3 I can tell you've put many hours of work into this. C: I'm very happy that there's someone here who take cat genetics rather seriously.

May I ask how you made it flow so very well? I am trying to do something similar for class and I was wondering if you had a simpler way to make it so once you choose a color it stayed that base color throughout. Did you have just a ton of frames? Just curious.

Can it be used to make point adopts? I saw someone using this to make them.

Reiterei In reply to SelviAdopts [2011-08-16 18:43:29 +0000 UTC]

I would prefer that the art from this creator is not resold for points. Technically any art made with this is still my copyright, and any one can use this tool for free and make the same design as others. If you want to come up with ideas for designs using it, feel free, but if you are going to sell them, I would like the sold drawing to be on the vendor's own lineart.

I have contacted the person using it already about this.

Reiterei In reply to Mistystar122 [2011-06-19 22:56:58 +0000 UTC]

Sure. It isn't my main style, so go ahead. I kinda drew it like that cause it looked better than just an outline of a cat.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Reiterei In reply to Boapebble [2011-04-10 23:35:42 +0000 UTC]

I learned most of it using this tutorial: [link]

But there was still a few things that I played around with to get it to work right. But that tutorial is about how to make stuff appear when certain buttons are pressed.
