you might guess that I was really stoked to do this project(its acrylic on a large canvas, dunno the exact dimensions whoops)
Probably had to repaint that left shoulder like 10 times until it felt right
I've been looking at this thing for so long I feel like I've gone completely blind to it wether or not it has some major errors or wonky proportions,, and honestly I probably wont go back to correct anything if I do finally figure out what is still bugging me
but hey, I've barely ever done any actual painting up till then ;0 Ive gotten p good at improvising
If anyone remembers seeing this piece: it was part of the preparation done for this project, I'll probably post more of those prep works once we get back the whole package of projects we've done
and just as a small update: only one test left until it's the calm before finals whoop! which means I probably should go study music history now, but I'm less worried about that than I was for art histo today (for which we had to learn the whole material we did this entire year = 60 artists *wheeze)

Oh the arm on the left [as u mentioned] is kinda weird. And I think Iknow why... Basically the portion from the darkerst shadow to the right side of that upper arm ended up lookin ย --> ย ( ย ย ย ย so u have the arm | ( ย instead ย ย of || ย ย ย ย [I know the arm is not straight like stick ย .....
What m trying to say.. the shadow create an llussion of arm beeing concave/sunken ย intead of creatng a solid oval shape....
Hope I could describe it properly.
But other than that love the panting, idea of pulling flesh like that is seriously great idea for project ;d

I have to say, that the color in the right shaded area of her arm/elbow, breast and belly, is amazing. It's almost like there's a glow. I love how you went more towards the orange-browns for those shadows, compared to the pink red in the other high contrast areas. Makes the lighting so dynamic. Holy.

This is definitely amazing something I could never do. I'm not a professional, but if something is bugging you it could be the width of the neck?? I'm not sure, but very amazing work!!!

As a person who also paints with acrylic (I don't post anything though) I positively love the shading with this, especially the neck and stomach. The hands are beautifully detailed as well. All and all, it's very detailed and realistic.ย A beautiful piece indeed.ย ย ย ย ย

Still, the blending of the shadows and the color mixes of the skin are beautiful and very well done <3

Thanks!! It's only like halfway through when I finally figured out how to somewhat do gradients using a damn brush,, so finding out that you gotta rub in bright saturated orange to get that slight orange glow inside shadows, was a good discovery

Gradients in traditional paintings are a pain but once you understand how to do them they just look niiice
I'll take note of the glow :'D
